In my home that I painstakingly built for 3 years some 17 yrs ago , my favourite spot in the house is the centre courtyard where my Koi pond is .. it was not always a Koi pond . I had a garden with lawn and a full sized palm tree, stone bench seating etc . One fine day I got bored of the garden and decided to put a pond in .
In my entire childhood , and my life , I’ve always been fond of fish .. I’ve had all sizes of aquariums , all kinds of fish ,a massive 7 foot marine tank , even 2 Moray eels infamously named Osama & Obama . Btw in my tank , Osama killed Obama !!!
After this house was built and I moved in , I missed being around fish . And that’s why , out came the beautiful garden .

Koi ponds have been used as havens of tranquility and peaceful meditation by people for many years. Koi ponds have been around for hundreds of years, a tradition that began in 17th Century Japan. Koi, or Nishikigoi, are descendants of the common carp.
So I’m a Koi parent for 8 yrs now !!
The point is the focal point of my house .. people walk in and they love my fish babies & the beautiful serene reclining Buddha .
The Buddha is another story by itself . Weighing almost a Ton , was a nightmare to be brought into an already built house .It took 24 men and 2 days to inch him into place , with almost 2 men losing their foot.
He’s the face I see every morning when everyone are still asleep , my morning coffee is with him ..
The koi pond is more than just a body of water – it’s a source of beauty, peace, and joy that has greatly enhanced the tranquility of my home !! It’s Divine !!!
