I kept hearing about @lovethatsmoke in Salisbury so I finally went to go try it out. I can always go for some good BBQ. It wasn’t too long ago when it was tough to find good BBQ in New England. Now BBQ places are popping up like Dunkin’s. All around New England you’ll find some pretty good BBQ joints. Smoke on the Water is the newest on the block! Same owners as @bigpigbbq. Big Pig is catering only. But one day, Chris (one of the owners at Smoke on the Water) was driving up Route 1 after moving here from Texas, he drove by Big Pig & seen their off set smokers and got in touch with them. They formed a partnership. Chris wanted to do his own craft bbq spot since moving up here and after a few years of working with Big Pig, they opened this place together. A dream come true.

Chris brought me into the smoking room to show me the operation and tell me about their daily process. It was pretty darn impressive! The smokers are huge, as are the off set smokers. The amount of volume they do here is insane. And the restaurant itself is cafeteria style. Which Chris told me is how most places do it in Central Texas. I dig it. Hop in line and grab a tray. Chris sent out the works. I don’t think there was one thing I didn’t get on my trays. The beef rib is the big seller here. Everyone wants to get their teeth in a Dino rib! But the pork belly burnt ends & the turkey might have been my favorites. They’re still working out some kinks, working on staying consistent. But they’re definitely doing things right. I’m looking forward to round two.

They also offer some cool craft cocktails. Frozen meats for you to take home later. Tons of merch. And if you order a soda, you get a plastic take home souvenir cup. I like that a lot. Thanks to Chris & my boy @jgiles59 for showing me a good time and making me almost fall asleep on the way home from all that meat 🤣

Circled back to @thaicafelynn because why not? I don’t tend to make videos for the same restaurant in such a short span of time (although I did for Il Ponte & Bar Vlaha recently). But it’s not something you’ll usually see. However, Thai Cafe has became a comfort spot for my family. We did a video here a few months ago courtesy of @lynnmainstreets and that was our first time here. We fell in love with it. And since it’s around the corner from my house, we go a lot. I figured why not do another video for our friends here and remind everyone how good they are.

I haven’t had one thing I didn’t enjoy from here. My go-to is definitely the crispy chicken basil while Felicia’s favorite is the pineapple curry fried rice w/ crispy chicken. I love all their noodles too. Thai Cafe is a spot that you gotta try when you’re in Lynn. Lynn is full of great food. It may be one of the best food cities in the state. We got everything in Lynn. Thai Cafe is just one of many great restaurants. Let them know who sent you!

I’ve been hearing about @nansmarket & wanted to give them a try for myself. Their chicken sandwiches looked incredible. They have a couple locations but just recently opened up shop in Andover. None of my buddies were available to come eat with me so I went alone. I don’t mind filming myself but I like when someone else does it. Luckily I found this kid Danny (@jake_scalli) outside and asked if he’d help me record. I should have known that would have been an issue!

Nan’s has all farm to table fried chicken & fresh vegetables and I tried a little bit of everything. The Barn Burner was way too hot. I love hot but that was really hot! The Nansville Hot was my favorite sandwich. And I couldn’t get enough of the bone-in chicken. I honestly gotta say, Nan’s might be top 3 chicken sandwich for me. It was THAT good. I took one of their homemade banana puddings home and that was also great. Come by Nan’s Kitchen & let them know who sent you! You’re gonna love this one.

PS, I got away from Danny without paying him that $40.

Out in the North End with @bigdewfrank for the day. I don’t know how we haven’t done anything out here yet! All the videos we’ve done and we never did one together in the North End. We both have history here. Our first stop was to have lunch at @paulisboston. I’ve been to Pauli’s before but I’ve never had a lobster roll from them. They’re known for their USS Lobstitution. A 28 ounce, GIANT lobster roll!! Only $110. Not bad at all. Aside from the lobster roll, they offer tons of other crafty sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches & more.

The USS Lobstitution is obviously the star of the show here. It had other patrons asking to take pictures with it and inquiring about it. It doesn’t just look crazy, it tastes good too. Fresh lobster, good amount of mayo (a little bit more wouldn’t hurt) but very fresh lobster. And they had @mountaindew so you know how Big Frank felt. We enjoyed it and when speaking to locals & tourists, they loved it too. Come by Pauli’s in the North End, let them know who sent you!

Took a ride down south to @strawberryfairnorwell for breakfast. I’m really trying to do more video south of Boston but it is hard with my work schedule. I’m sure the south got a lot of great restaurants and I plan on doing more. When I was looking for a good breakfast joint south of Boston I stumbled upon Strawberry Fair. An old, farmhouse breakfast & lunch spot. It sparked my interest as I’m someone who loves these old time, vintage places. I’m an old soul. Took us about an hour to get there from Lynn but I’d say it was worth it.

Walking in there was like we walked into somebody’s home. Antique decor & merchandise all along the walls. The smell of syrup & bacon hits you the second you walk through their front door. They have multiple dining rooms including a patio. The place was jam packed. The parking lot was full so people were parking in the plaza across the street. It reminded me of my time at Pickity Place in Mason, NH. I loved everything about this place. The food was just as great as the aesthetics. Crème brûlée french toast & a breakfast casserole. 2 things you don’t typically see. They are some of the specialties items here at Strawberry Fair. Their homemade strawberry jam hit the spot too. This is one of those places that if you were born close by, you’d be there at least 30 times a year for breakfast. It’s a home away from home kind of place. Come try it for yourself.
