3 Reasons It’s Important for Dads to Combat Seasonal Depression

As the days get shorter and the seasons change, dads have to pay attention to their mental wellness too.

1️⃣ Your family feels your presence.
Seasonal depression can affect energy, patience, motivation, and connection. Taking care of your mental health helps you remain emotionally present for your children and the people who depend on you.

2️⃣ Your children are watching how you cope.
Dads have an opportunity to model healthy emotional habits. Talking about your feelings, staying active, maintaining relationships, and seeking support when needed teaches children that taking care of your mental health is a strength.

3️⃣ Isolation can make things heavier.
One of the biggest dangers during the colder months is withdrawing from friends, family, and community. Staying connected to other fathers creates opportunities to talk, laugh, move, and remind yourself that you don’t have to navigate difficult seasons alone.

Come for the stride. Stay for the brotherhood.

The Daddy Stroller Social Club came together for an amazing gathering of fathers and our little ones! The day started by building community, sharing space, and showing what active fatherhood looks like in real time. 👶🏾👨🏾‍🍼

Huge appreciation to all the dads who pulled up with their kiddos and made this event special. Moments like this remind us that fatherhood isn’t meant to be done alone.

Special thank you to @lovedjalways for bringing a powerful culture and energy through the drum circle. That experience connected fathers and children through rhythm, history, and tradition in a way that words can’t fully describe.

Also a big thank you to Granny’s Birth Initiative @gbiky20 for supporting our fathers by providing diapers and wipes for the families in attendance. As well as Play Cousins @playcousins_502 for providing books and valuable information. That kind of support goes a long way.

This is how we build stronger fathers, stronger families, and stronger communities.

The movement continues!

🗓️ Next Stride will be:
April 18th

Come for the stride.
Stay for the brotherhood.

Spread the word. 🤝🏾

I am still not sure if I totally believe it… But sometimes I convince myself that I really can have it all!

The career and the business. The relationship and the family. I told myself I can be a boss and a present mother, that I can be tough on my kids and prepare them for the real world while still giving them an amazing childhood?

And if all of this is actually true, this is what it would look like. Late nights and early mornings, long and exhausting days, but lots of smiles, hugs and love along the way ❤️
