“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”- Proverbs 16:3 Thank you God for getting me through! Thank you to my friends and family who CONSISTENTLY showed up and showed out these last two years. It’s been one hell of a journey since leaving UMES back in 2016. I had to come home to assist w/ caring for my Mom. While navigating that I lost myself in caregiving and put school on the back-burner. With ample encouragement I decided to go back to school. From working 2 jobs while in school, recovering from 2 major surgeries, sleepless nights studying, endless hours in the math/science labs, and a couple crying fits later; I can say I did it! I kept comparing myself to some of my peers not realizing it was the true thief of my joy. Not too many can say they did what I’ve done. It’s funny though because I know God isn’t done with me yet! Thank you again to everyone who came out and celebrated me! It’s bittersweet knowing my Mom couldn’t be in attendance due to her health. Yet, I know she’s proud of me!
