🏆🏆🏆
Over Carnival weekend
when the
Caribbean gathers
to celebrate
a tradition
born from
resistance
and
the reclamation of space
I received some beautiful news
.
@standcleartheclosingdoors
is nominated for 4 awards at
Conch Shell International Film Fest
.
🏆 Best Film
🏆 Best Director
🏆 Best Cinematographer-@t.s.naylor
🏆 Best Lead Performer-@StaceySargeant
.
This deeply personal
New York story
shaped by my Caribbean roots
could not have been made without my mother
.
One of my greatest supporters throughout my life
her belief in
my vision for this film
helped make it possible
.
Her being from Tobago🇹🇹
and a
first-time Executive Producer on
Stand Clear ‘ the Closing Doors
makes
sharing this journey with her especially meaningful
.
To be recognized by
@CownchShellIFF
a festival
celebrating Caribbean voices feels like a beautiful continuation of the
love
support
and
belief
that brought it to
life
.
Heartfelt thanks to the jurors

🎥🏆💃🏾
We are so proud and excited to announce that
@standcleartheclosingdoors
has been nominated for
.
The Alex Sichel Memorial Award
.
It was created to spotlight
female-identifying storytellers
focused on
the deeply personal
often overshadowed moments that profoundly shape individuals’ lives
.
This award recognizes that this
search for vulnerability
is where some of the
most artful
truth
resides
.
That this film is based on a real life experience that impacted how I
CHOOSE
to
now and forever
show up in the world
feels aligned with this award’s purpose
and
we are thankful to
@themoviecrush
for this recognition
