Honestly, I’m not sure how this is already my 23rd year celebrating Mother’s Day, but here we are. Every year, this role becomes more humbling and even more meaningful. With each child, the experience has been completely different. There’s no “right way” to raise a child, and there’s no parenting guide, handbook, or even AI advice that will help you raise the “perfect” kids — and that’s just facts.

Looking back at old memories from when my babies were little and needed me for everything, to now, when they barely need me for anything — puts life into a completely different perspective.

One thing I’ve learned as a seasoned mom that I can share with a new generation of moms is this:

Let go of what you can’t control. There will be times when you won’t agree with the choices your child makes, who they’re influenced by, or even who they choose to love. Instead, focus on the bigger blessing — that they trust you enough to share their life with you. There are parents who have no idea who their children truly are, and often, that’s because their children never felt safe enough to let them in.

The older my children get, the more I realize motherhood isn’t about control, it’s about connection, trust, and unconditional love. And that is the real gift.

Get a pair of Italian shoes made.
Take lots and lots of pics. 😉

The benefits of having a child in your early 20’s :

1. You grow up together.
2. You’re not too “old” to understand their slang words.
3. You become best friends.
4. You laugh at people’s shocking reaction, when they find out you’re a mother|daughter duo.
5. You have more energy to hang. (well sort of)
… until she shakes her head at you while you’re sitting on the couch at a rooftop bar watching cute dog videos. 😂
