I’ve been cooking something for the last few months. LogoMedia officially has a home. I’m opening The Big Eye Studio by LogoMedia, a dedicated iris photography studio here in Kailua-Kona. The idea is simple: photograph the human iris at extreme magnification and turn something you see every day, but have probably never actually seen, into a piece of art. Behind that simple idea has been months of designing and building a custom capture system, testing optics and lighting, developing the brand, finding the right space, negotiating the lease, and figuring out how to turn the whole thing into a real studio experience. And yesterday, I finally got the keys. The space is still basically an empty shell. Over the next several weeks I’ll be building it out, dialing in the capture process, creating the first display pieces and getting everything ready to start bringing people through the door. I’m going to document the process here as I build it. The Big Eye Studio by LogoMedia Waterfront Row, Kailua-Kona Coming very soon.

First time I got to learn free diving thanks to @thelogzzz ! After an hour or two and some pro tips I was able to stay under for over a minute, and it was such a cool experience 🙂‍↔️ Will definitely be doing this again! 🌊 📸 @thelogzzz #freediving #fitgamer #underthesea #VacayWithFly

When you break down the Hawaiian word ALOHA, it translates to "the presence of breath" or "breath of life". ALO means presence and HA means breath. In ancient Hawaiian culture, the sharing of breath is known as the HONI. This intimate gesture involves pressing the bridge of the nose and forehead together, then inhaling at the same time to exchange breath (HA) and spiritual energy (MANA). When two people exchange breath, it symbolizes trust, respect, and the understanding that we are connected through the same life energy. @hannahcsphotography
