I can’t thank all of the amazing humans who helped me on my Grand Slam journey enough. First my husband and kiddos for their unwavering support and love- regardless of my outcome. My pacers and crew, the kind family members that watched my kiddos while I was out of town, to all of my friends who got up to train with me at unreasonable hours or up wild mountains for far too many miles - you are my people. Also big thanks to the brands that support, sponsor and believe me- it makes a massive difference and I am grateful.

Special shout out to my new trail sister @thelowcountryrunner . We met unexpectedly during Old Dominion 100 and bonded over our Grand Slam goal and we ended up running many miles together. Through the next few races- both Vermont and Leadville, we somehow always ended up sharing lots of miles together. Avery always seemed to pop up when I needed her most. My tiny trail Angel. Our husbands became friends as they crewed us, we just somehow kept ending up together . Then when I was suddenly out of the Grand Slam, instead of me running Wastach, it became about helping Avery run Wasatch 100. We hosted her family last week and they are amazing people. Selfishly, it was super healing being out there with her, supporting her, supporting other runners. If not I just would have been at home feeling sorry for myself and I am so grateful that our paths crossed. Avery was the only female to finish the Grand Slam this year. Truly an incredible feat- go show her some love if you have a chance.
As for me, it has been about so much more than 4 races. In the process I have grown as an athlete, coach and human. While I am rightfully disappointed in my outcome, I am looking at this not as a failure but rather a sizable bump in my road and I’ll circle back when the time is right.

Super grateful for a healthy body and mind and for the best support system this crazy mother runner could ask for.

Wonderful to see so many friends out there today- esp Willy my fellow grand slammers - wishing everyone the best of luck tomorrow. You can track me by scanning the QR code in my bib. There’s a close up of it in my stories. #dreamreallyfreakingbig
