Date day to Glastonbury with the added bonus (actually the intention) of surprising Heather at the Wytches Market. Mooch around the shops, brunch at the Tea Rooms and cake at 100 Monkeys. Pasties brought home from Burns the Bakers. Detour on the way back to a garden centre of course. Driving shared with 80s radio on the way there and 70s on the way back!

🚨First announcement for Steel Over The Solent 2027! We've got AVENGER and TRUFFLE coming to Portsmouth shores! ✨We're very excited to be bringing these two UK NWOBHM legends to Portsmouth to rock you at STEEL OVER THE SOLENT 2027! 💎This will be the first time AVENGER have played Portsmouth and we can't wait for TRUFFLE to be welcomed back for a hometown show! 🗡️Forming in 1982 and rising to prominence in the height of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene of the early 80s, Newcastle's Avenger began life as a collaboration of members of Blitzkrieg and Satan among others. Signing to iconic label Neat Records, the band quickly created a name for themselves on the worldwide stage, performing worldwide during their short initial tenure. 🗡️From the raw proto-thrash of their debut single "Too Wild to Tame" to the riff-laden melodic metal masterworks "Bloodsports" and "Killer Elite", their early catalogue blended Maiden-esque harmonies and soaring vocals with the intensity and heaviness of other pioneers such as Venom, Saxon and Mercyful Fate. 🗡️Reforming in the mid 2000s, the band continued touring worldwide (including tours all over Europe, the US and Brazil) and, in 2014, released their triumphant comeback album "The Slaughter Never Stops" garnering positive reviews globally, cementing their continued legacy into the new millenium. 🗡️Modernising without losing a hint of authenticity, the band are currently working on new material for a brand new release coming soon. 🗡️Portsmouth's own TRUFFLE were a NWOBHM band from that gigged all over the UK in the 80's and early 90's. We're incredibly excited to have them grace our stage for their first performance in 13 years (they had a brief reunion for Brofest #2 in 2014) 🗡️They released a single “Round Tower/If You Really Want” in 1981, a cassette single “633 Squadron/Do You Like Heavy Metal” in 1984 and the cassette album “The Bacon Slicer Strikes Again" 🗡️In 2011 a German record company HIGH ROLLER RECORDS remastered and released most of the material TRUFFLE had recorded onto 3 vinyl albums “If You Really Want”, “1st Attempt” & “The Bacon Slicer Strikes Again” ...fantastic for the boys after nearly 3
