I’ve been so eager to share this news with you...

For a long time, I ran away from this transition. My mind was constantly bombarded with fear:

What will people say if I leave the corporate world behind to embrace full-time motherhood?

What’s wild is that during the seasons when I gave birth to my children, I was actually unemployed.

It wasn't by choice. I searched for jobs, applied relentlessly, networked, and showed up at events hoping my efforts would land an offer.

It didn't happen.

Honestly, I felt like the years I spent earning my degrees were a total waste. I thought studying biomedical science would lead to endless opportunities, but instead, I found myself scrambling just to prove my worth to an employer.

That was the problem: I equated my worth to a title, a degree, and a corporate job.

But I was built for far more than a W2.

A few months back, I stumbled across prayer requests I wrote in 2016.

There were only three things listed:

1. A sound mind and healthy body
2. A husband who is faithful, caring, and a man of God
3. A family of my own

Looking back on that note from 10 years ago, God answered every single one of those prayers.

I am literally living in my answered prayers right now.

Once I recognized that, stepping away from corporate and going all-in on my family became an easy decision.

I still get to do the work I love—except now, I get to do it alongside the people I love most.

Over the coming days, I will be sharing exactly how I am navigating motherhood and the simple ways I am managing my household budget and investments.

“Dearly Beloved,

You are my grandest testimony. The one that you only read in hard cover because you’ll grip the pages eager to uncover the next chapter. God, the author, wove gold into each of those pages. We know because our love radiates even in the darkest of places.

Upon my finger rests a ring that carries the word “Beloved”. A remembrance of my Mother that I chose to wear for this moment and will continue to for our journey. Two of my greatest beloveds, forever woven into one story.

From now on every sunset we catch will be a reminder of all of our Beloveds in Heaven rejoicing. A reminder of every mountain and valley that brought us together.

1 John 4:11 says “Dearly Beloved, as God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” And that’s just what we’ll do.

This black wedding dress was made in France in the 1980s.

More than 40 years later, its fitted bodice, dropped sleeves and enormous skirt deliver exactly the kind of gothic drama designers are still creating today.

For An Ode to Old Romance, @oldharvestvintage pulled gowns from its Austin archive and styled them on real bride-to-be Maddie with her own gothic aesthetic firmly intact.

Victorian-inspired white lace was worn with smoky eyes and dark lipstick. A pale blue 1970s dress with puffed sleeves and a ruffled neckline was reshaped with an ivory corset layered over it. And the black couture gown was paired with a tiny veiled hat, black flowers and Maddie’s tattoos left completely visible.

Because wearing vintage doesn’t mean becoming a period character. These dresses already had a life before you. What happens to them next can look entirely different.

Surprise! This is my first veil design made with antique Irish lace. I’m going to be making veils and Juliet caps with all the vintage materials that I have been collecting. Sleeve cuffs, collars, purses, maybe some dresses if I find the audacity❤️

My clothes and these hand made pieces will be available to shop in person, every week day - very soon. We are working on opening full time inside of @luckyfindsds with all their incredibly beautiful antiques! Also planning and plotting some markets for the dripping springs creators. Cant wait to share more with you all!
