📝 We equip BGSU students with tools to design their leadership journey
👥Built on a desire to promote civic engagement and enact positive social change

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Rather than complaining about the toxic political environment or trying to ignore it, we are creating opportunities for students to have civil conversations designed to create understanding. There’s a lot of evidence these types of conversations do a lot to increase the health of our democracy. Glad to be part of this initiative.

Extra benefit: Its been wonderful teaming up with the incredible talent at @themarvincenter on this event.

The Autumn Wetland Planting program at J.C. Reuthinger Memorial Preserve was a great success today!

BGSU Thompson Scholars and WCPD volunteers came together and planted over 140 native trees and shrubs in an hour and a half!! 💥🌳🌸

Some species included Swamp White Oak, Hackberry, Buttonbush, Ninebark, and Elderberry.

Volunteers still had some time leftover to get some seed collecting done in the nursery to wrap up the day. What stellar volunteers! ⭐

Thank you all volunteers for braving the rain and mud and helping us get so much planted in our forested wetland restoration area. Your positive impact is making great strides in Wood County's conservation efforts! 💚

🇺🇸🌳 During the 9/11 day of service we planted 8 trees on campus thanks to the @themarvincenter grant!

Between the efforts of Campus Sustainability, Campus Operations, the Marvin Center, and our volunteers, we were able to plant these new trees in the courtyard in front of the Veterans Memorial.

These new trees will provide shade, purify water and air, provide homes for our campus squirrels, and make our campus even more beautiful.

On this day we remember the nearly 3,000 lives that were lost in the tragic events of 9/11 #neverforget #forthepublicgood #bgsu #bgreen #treeplanting

Thank you to BGSU ROTC, first responders and everyone from the Bowling Green community who showed up this morning to pay tribute to the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives on this day, 25 years ago. #NeverForget

We will always remember.

To honor the 25th anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001, BGSU ROTC hosted its annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb and opened it to the public. Each participant represented one of the 343 FDNY firefighters who gave their lives so others could live by climbing the equivalent of the World Trade Center’s 110 stories.

In honor of the 25th anniversary, the University invites you to take part in commemorative events that honor and remember those affected by September 11. To register for service opportunities go to bgsu.edu/25th-anniversary A building with red, white, and blue lights surrounded by numerous small American flags. The foreground has text saying "September 11th, 25th Anniversary" with a city skyline silhouette.

♻️📦 Move-in recycling was super successful this year!
We were able to recycle 39,060 pounds of cardboard from move in!!

📦 With 4,970 move-ins over that weekend, it averages out to be that each student recycled 7.85 lbs of cardboard!

Thank you to everyone who worked very hard to make this possible:
- Campus Operations
- Our volunteers
- @rumpkewasterecycling
- @chapmanbgsu
- @themarvincenter

♻️ Now Falcons, it is up to you to keep up this momentum! Check out the correct way to recycle on campus by clicking on our website link in our bio.
