When I posted to my story so many asked for the poem that accompanies this painting…so here goes, 🫶🏼

When September ends, a whisper stirs, upon the cool and vibrant breeze, where sunlight gently shines, A season of change, profound and bright, illuminates our grow with an appetite for warm light.

The last blooms of summer, with colors aglow, embrace the encroaching autumnal sight , in a vibrant show of delight
Petals in soft surrender, now dance in the breeze, as nature unveils her artistry with humility and grace .

Colliding hues of gold and rust,
Remind us of transformation, in change, we trust.
Reconnect, relearn, reclaim what’s fills us up as we seek answers cloaked in silent suspense.

Leave behind the burden of what does not thrive,
Nurture the seeds of connection, let friendship revive.
In this tapestry woven with threads of grace, that we cultivate solace, a warm, sacred space.

Reflect upon the passage, embrace the rhythm of time, within every ending there is a new chance to climb.
In the quiet embrace of the shifting tides, May we find our footing where wisdom abides.

As September departs, let us all discern, In the quiet of autumn, our hearts still yearn.
Through change, we blossom, together we stand, In the beauty of friendship, linked hand in hand.

In the third and final semester of The Canopy Program, artists and mentors spend 2-3 weeks discussing ideas of ‘success’ for them in art and in life.

✅ Setting goals can be difficult but having a trusting cohort and mentor makes it much easier.

⚡️We also find that artists often have similar goals and similar roadblocks so discussing this together helps everyone!

Stunning installation views by @zacharybalber of Matt Phillip’s beautiful solo show “Falling Tide Can Turn” “In discussing the new exhibition, Phillips states: “These new paintings have an internal restlessness. Some days, when I came into the studio, they seemed close to being pictures of
forms that could be named in clear terms. On other days, these same images appeared to embody actions that unfold through time—they moved, supported, bent, floated, and unfurled.”
