Meet 'Our Lady of the Clouds' Co-Producer and Actor Kenia Munguia @kenia_munguia! 🌤️ Kenia (she/her) is a Honduran Nicaraguan actress and producer based in New York City whose work spans stage, screen, and voiceover. She is delighted to return as Bruna in Our Lady of the Clouds a second time. The original production reinvigorated her love for acting and reminded her why we create art: to connect and build community. Returning to the piece at this moment feels especially meaningful—a testament to our collective strength and to stories that refuse to be erased. Other credits include Edit in Eisa Davis’s Mushroom, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and an Equity reading of Here There Are Blueberries at Shakespeare & Company as Melita Maschmann. Kenia trained with Shakespeare & Company and Teatro Círculo and is a member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA.

So excited to go back to the stage with @themechanicalsnyc Last year, @timeoutnewyork named The Mechanicals’ Halloween show one of the top things to do for Halloween. So we’re back. And this time, we’re bringing Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Weird Sisters with us. Three nights of gothic theater, comedy, camp, music, and a little beautiful chaos. Three nights. One Brooklyn takeover. THE MECHANICALS: AFTER DARK October 29-31. Space is limited. Book your tickets now. Link in Bio.

Mark your calendars! 🗓️ 'Our Lady of the Clouds' is coming to Brooklyn Art Haus this December 10-13! ⛅️ Tickets are NOW available at the link in bio🎟️ Salomé Egas' adaptation of Argentine playwright Arístides Vargas' work emerges from F.U.N.’s ongoing commitment to center immigrant and diasporic experiences. Blending bilingual text (Spanish/English), movement, and live music, the work expands beyond theater into an embodied, ensemble-driven experience. Inspired by the experiences of artists during Argentina’s military regime, the work offers poetic parallels to current events in the U.S., reflecting on democracy’s fragility and the need for collective resistance and care. Since 2015, the company has produced new, classic, and underperformed plays that engage with social issues, and its community has been at the heart of everything it creates. Highlights include a 1990s Lower East Side A Midsummer Night's Dream, a 1960s-set As You Like It, a Roaring Twenties Twelfth Night, and a modern-day Machinal. The company also premiered Ruthellen Cheney's horror play Gothic Hour, created a horror web series, hosts staged reading parties, stages an annual Halloween show, and most recently produced the Fresh Ink Festival, a showcase for emerging playwrights. Alexis thanks everyone bringing Our Lady of the Clouds to life, especially the bold and inspiring Fun Collective team, Brynne and Salome, and her creative partners: Ruthellen, her collaborator since childhood, and amazing company manager Kevin Brutus.

Oh baby, WE ARE BACK 🗣️ Last week today, @themechanicalsnyc opened our inaugural Fresh Ink Festival at @thefleatheater, presenting five new works selected from the many submissions we received from across the country this past summer: SelfOwn by @hollman.richard Alala & the Scarman by @silmasierraberrada Postlingual by Brooke Downs Wise Guys by @gabriel_diego_hernandez Kinda Sick by @justinborak We had the honor of working with an incredible group of playwrights, directors, actors, and technical artists who brought these stories to life. None of this would have been possible without their talent, time, trust, and commitment. The past month has been a wild rollercoaster of auditions, rehearsals, meetings, planning, problem-solving, and more planning to make this weekend happen. And somehow, through all of it, we made it to the other side. It’s an honor to serve as Company Manager of The Mechanicals and to help bring the visions of @alexisconfer and @yourmothersdaughter to life, even when the task in front of us feels daunting. One thing we don’t do is shy away from big impact. To our incredible community: thank you for stepping up, showing up, and helping make this weekend a success. Nor’easter be damned 🌧️❤️ And if you couldn’t make it this past weekend, don’t fret. We’ve got something brewing later this month… 👻 Then, in December, we’ll be back with our co-production with @f.u.n.collective for Our Lady of the Clouds ☁️ See you there 😉 #freshink #nyc #theater #explore
