Finally wrote something about music for the ThemHues Substack. Every week, I’ll write about 3-5 songs that caught my ear and highlight them. I’m hoping this act of rebuilding this muscle I’ve been neglecting leads me to so what I love to do the most, which is writing features and doing interviews. But for now, I hope you enjoy this treat. I interviewed Diz back in February of 2023, shortly after the release of his album, the way forward is not the way home. The piece was originally slated for publication on No Bells, but for reasons never explained to me—despite my best efforts to get some clarity—it never ran. Decided to just say fuck it and post it on Substack. I think it’s a pretty good piece, so hope you guys feel the same way and enjoy it. Substack link in the bio

First blog post of @themhues (Substack is in the bio) is up and I listed my 50 of my favorite albums along side a note for about absence. I didn’t rank them, just named 50 albums in no particular order. Gave myself the self imposed rule to type everything in 18 mins, non-stop and edit afterwards. I just needed to write. If you want to see the first 10 i listed, swipe to the last slide. Was a horrible year for many reasons, but at least I started this and my grandma is still alive. I convinced myself that I deserve no good things, a lived like I had no one waiting for me to return. Excited to watch it bloom into whatever it becomes.
