OUR FIRST SHOW EVER
August 14th, 2021
Michael: 11
Thomas:10

This was how we started it. With the Crüe.
Complete with microphone failure (no idea what I was doing). Also managed to unplug my own guitar towards the end in the process 🤦🏻‍♂️ During the discovery of the mic failure(thank you @dustindenz_ ), the boys kept playing like pros. Not to mention the video recorded in a mirror image somehow. Those of you with BF shirts will notice that this is how the image on the front of the shirt came to be, looking at the banner in the back. In between baseball practices, football practices, and school, these boys learned their instruments in about a year in preparation for this opening show

Best memories ever

It was always about having fun and never taking ourselves too seriously.

For instance, here’s me butchering the vocals on a 4NonBlondes classic…with BloodFart flavor 😀

One of our original arrangements.
Apologies to @4nonblondes

Since I’m having withdrawals from playing with the boys, gonna start posting some of our old videos from practicing together…
Some are songs we never got to play together live. Been going thru old videos, thought I’d bring you along with me…

Here’s one of our first time trying this song…who knows it?

Here’s to hoping for a reunion one day 🤞

2025…in many ways you were the year what we had envisioned…and in many ways was not.

Those intimate moments of grief, sadness, and pain- are just that- intimate moments for our family & those closest to us. IYKYK

Nonetheless, our family got stronger and became closer. Faith was tested & restored.

So I share the sweet moments that allowed us to access joy again - even just for a moment.

These are the highlights that brought hope of happiness after the heartache.

In many ways it was the year we needed to be ready for whatever lies ahead.

I can’t thank enough everyone who supported us throughout this year. Every text, meal, ride for our boys, & prayer made a bigger difference than you may ever know.

Goodbye 2025, thank you for the memories and the lessons.

Truths are often hard to hear…which is why most go unspoken.

BUT our firefighters’ behaviors do speak.

No matter how long the conflict has been around, change is always possible- if you want it and are willing to do the work to change.

On this day 17 years ago, we made the biggest commitment we would ever make.

~To have and to hold from this day forward…

And so we have.
We have been through a lot & I know more will come our way.
The road has had its bumps & trials.
Yet those challenges have grown & strengthened our relationship in ways only possible in the face of adversity.
From two kids in 14months, graduate school, fire family life, injuries, surgeries, and death.

God knew we would need each other in ways we couldn’t imagine 23 years ago when we met in Davis.
He knew that our strengths would help us overcome our weaknesses.
He knew that our boys would need our different approaches.
He knew we would end up together.

I love you.

*a musical tribute to your mom. She would always send us a message on our anniversaries & this year is no different. 🕊️
