Their first date was ice cream at Jeni’s, and they handled the nerves in completely opposite ways. Rebecca talked a lot, Josh stayed quiet, and afterward Josh called his mom to say how nice it was not to carry the conversation, while Rebecca told her friend this guy just didn’t talk.⁠

A few days later, they went bowling. That date lasted 26 hours. The rest, as they say, is history.⁠

Rebecca and Josh came up from Atlanta for their engagement session at Sayen Gardens, and they told us exactly what they wanted: a mix of classic portraits and real, candid moments of the two of them laughing and being themselves. Their relationship is built on humor, kindness, and taking care of each other through the stressful days, and we wanted their photos to feel just like that.⁠

This is a season you only get once. You’re engaged for such a short time, and an engagement session is a chance to slow down, enjoy each other, and have something beautiful to show for it. For Rebecca and Josh, that means photos they’ll display in their home and in an album long after the wedding.⁠

The save the date timeline is VERY important! 💌

One of the first questions we get from newly engaged couples is, “When should we send our save the dates?”

And trust us, timing matters more than you might think!

For local weddings, we recommend mailing your save the dates 8-10 months before your wedding day. For destination weddings, we recommend 12 months in advance to give your guests plenty of time to plan their travel and accommodations.

But here’s something couples often forget: Your save the dates need to be designed, printed, assembled, and mailed, which means you should be reaching out to your wedding stationer well before those mailing dates!
