Today is World Suicide Prevention Day and this year’s theme is “Creating Hope Through Action”. It is a reminder that we can encourage hope and strengthen prevention. Thoughts of suicide can affect anyone at any time. There could be indicators that someone is experiencing thoughts of suicide, and there may also be no signs, as the person who is struggling may be working really hard to hide their thoughts. The most important thing to do when working out if someone is struggling with thoughts of suicide is to ask. We spoke to the experts at @papyrus_uk to get their advice on how to have a conversation with someone we’re worried about. ✨Share this post on your story - let’s help others open up conversations about suicide. ✨Save this post for when you may need it ✨Head to the link in our bio to read our articles about supporting others and coping with suicidal thoughts ✨ For any further information around the prevention of suicide, reach out to @papyrus_uk, @samaritanscharity, or @calmzone who specialise in supporting people who are experiencing suicidal thoughts. ✨Reach out to our free support services via our crisis messenger, helpline, counselling and online community (link in bio) - - - Image description: The heading of the image reads ‘World Suicide Prevention Day’.
