Some people don’t just make clothes; they help you make a statement. Lebo, thank you for always making sure I show up looking DOPE! From the boardroom to the world stage, from Johannesburg to London and the Future Forum, you understand that style is more than what you wear. It’s how you express who you are. Your craftsmanship is CLASS. The attention to detail, the creativity, the fit, and the way you bring an idea to life are a testament to your talent. Every piece tells a story, and I’m grateful to have a craftsman who understands my personality, my brand, and the statement I want to make. Much respect for the work you do and the excellence you bring to your craft. The Modern US is more than fashion; it’s an expression of identity, confidence and individuality. Thank you, Lebo, for keeping me looking sharp and making sure I never arrive quietly! Keep creating. Keep pushing boundaries. Keep making us look good! #TheModernUS #Craftsmanship #AfricanFashion #PersonalStyle #MadeWithPurpose

Just below the historic Constitution Hill sits Transwerk. Originally designed in 1939 and opened in 1943 as the Queen Victoria Maternity Hospital, this site was built as a place where life began. After years of falling into decay, this historic building has now been brilliantly reclaimed as the Creative Uprising Hub, a thriving ecosystem for independent artists, designers, and cultural practitioners. Engaging with spaces like Transwerk goes to the heart of the Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture (AEPC) initiative. The AEPC mission champions cross-border dialogue, artistic mobility, and sustainable creative economies by exploring how artists and heritage workers can transform spaces of historical complexity and urban decay into living hubs of innovation. A huge thank you to @themodernus for walking us through his amazing studio, sharing his incredible work and reminding us that environments tied to historical trauma and shifting urban use can be entirely reimagined when creatives and cultural practitioners take ownership, cross boundaries, and create the narrative. What are your favorite examples of heritage spaces being repurposed for modern creative communities? Let us know in the comments below! ✨ This research visit was supported by the Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture (AEPC). #aepc #createthenarrative #transwerkestudios #constitutionhill

LONDON, WHAT A VIBE! What a time to be alive! Future Forum brought together incredible ideas, global perspectives and inspiring people. Even better, reconnecting with old friends from Advertising Week New York reminded me that some of the best opportunities begin with a conversation. My biggest takeaway? Africa is a cultural and economic asset to the world. Conversations on how Kaya959 has shaped aspirations and connected from Afropolitan consumer years to to the dynamic consumer of AI today, to the opportunity that Brand South Africa has to tell a bold, compelling story to the world that moved from Alive with Possibilities to Inspiring New Ways; we have so much to contribute. Our culture is not just our identity. It is our influence. Our creativity is not just expression. It is economic value. And our stories deserve to travel globally with African brands capturing more of the value they create. The future is global. The opportunity is African. The vibe is Connectedness. London, the conversation continues! #FutureForum #Kaya959 #BrandSouthAfrica #AfricanExcellence #CulturalIntelligence

We recently had the privilege of joining @kayaon959 Business Club as they welcomed businesses into a space designed to do more than simply create visibility but to turn visibility into meaningful market access. For us at The Modern Us, this conversation hit home. We believe that building a brand is about more than making great products. It’s about telling your story, building credibility, creating meaningful connections and putting your work in rooms where opportunities can happen. Being part of the Kaya 959 Business Club is another step in that journey of connecting with like minded entrepreneurs, learning, sharing ideas and continuing to build a business that means something. From the studio to the boardroom. From creativity to commerce. From being seen to being remembered. Here’s to new rooms, new relationships and new opportunities. 🥂 #themodernus kaya929businessclub #unitedstations #creativity
