One year of SAD Bookclub ✨

It’s been an amazing year connecting with this amazing group of girls 🥰

We have read some good ones and some 💩 ones but we have all laughed along the way.

Here’s to another year 🥳

"Paint me like one of your book reviews."... 📚

Reviewing myself because… honestly, why not? 😂

Who better to review the middle-aged FMC experience than someone living it? The medical survival horror is real, the neurodivergent adventure is ongoing, and the fantasy vibes (plus my loyal animal companions) are keeping things interesting.

Am I a niche protagonist? Absolutely. Am I lovable? I’d like to hope so.

Huge shoutout to @themondaymuse for this brilliant prompt! I might have to make this a regular feature because apparently I’m my own favourite character.

I've tagged a few people who I think would do awesome at this style of post!

Let people read what they want🙌
I was tagged in this new ”I don’t care about your opinion” trend thingy by @maimayreads , @tylers_bookshelf and @aleciagenrehopper 🙏
And just like from what I have noticed with them, I have never had any nasty comments in my comment section. I am grateful for the kind of people that are here with me and everyone I have got to know.
I love hearing your thoughts on whether you liked a book or disliked it and such but then telling someone that they shouldn’t like it just because you don’t I think we can all agree is wrong.
I don’t think anyone should feel discouraged from reading something they enjoy just because someone else either doesn’t like the book or something about the author.🤷‍♂️

Ps. I don’t have anything against self help books, it was just for the video, albeit it isn’t my cup of tea so you won’t see me reading one 😅

So with all that, what series would you recommend me to get next? 👀

Will tag some people for this trend (horse not required)😂

Flatlay Friday Winter Edition ❄️

Hello friends! Since Winter has well and truely come to my side of the world, I am dedicated this Flatlay Friday to the season of all things ice and fire - no, not ASOIAF, just icy cold wind and the promise of a warm fire! 🔥

I’ve been unwell these past couple of days 🤧 but I’m slowly recovering. I’ve still been writing in the hopes of meeting my one chapter a week goal! Chapter 23, I’m coming for you!

Also, it’s not Friday here anymore, but you know how much I love to never do things on the appropriate days! 😂 Anyway, I’ve tagged a few of you to show me your best winter Flatlay! For those of you who aren’t currently existing in a temporal wasteland of frost, feel free to try your hand at this challenge, otherwise I will sneeze in your general direction!

I had the absolute pleasure of attending @sarah.a.parker.author event at @cityofmarionlibraries last night!! I obviously had to wear my Moonbeam jumper 😍
Listening to Sarah talk about her process & inspiration when writing was absolutely amazing. And getting to meet her was so surreal, she is truly just the most loveliest person 😭 if you ever get the chance to go to your favourite authors events I highly recommend you go! 💕
Thanks @themondaymuse for the many laughs while we waited in line & posing with Kaan with me 🤭

Stack Saturday ✨️
@themondaymuse wanted to see some pink stacks🩷 so I tried to deliver one. Didn't have as many pink books as I thought I would 🤔

I'd love to see some green stacks 🌿 consider yourself tagged when you see this post ✨️

Not me thinking this would be better than staying in with a book. 😭📚

Was tagged by the lovely @vampsreads in a "get to know me" kinda post.
So here's mine!
I don't have many photos of myself so we're working with what we got here 😂

✨ I'm from Australia
✨ Cats and horses are my fave animals
✨ My fave colour changes day to day. Popular rotation is green, black, blue and pink
✨ Music is a lifeline, but I have an eclectic taste. DNB to classical to metal
✨ I play rugby league and league tag
✨ I hate fruit
✨ I love pasta. I could live on the stuff forever
✨ i have AuDHD, learning to navigate that has been interesting
✨ I love a cheeky cocktail
✨ I love tattoos, my wallet does not. I have 13 so far and many plans for more, inclusing two bookish ones
✨ I experience frission, and most live music makes me cry (peep the song on the post, it gives me goosebumps every time)
✨ I am studying to become a geologist and palaeontologist
✨ I'm a mum to a beautiful 1 year old, Aurora. She's got spina bifida, a chromosome duplication and cerebral palsy, so every now and then that content will cross my page. She is my world, and everything she needs is my first choice
✨ I adore travelling. I don't get to as much as I would like
✨ I've had 5 career changes so far

✨ I'm just a 33 year old teenage emo girl experiencing life for the first time, im still trying to figure myself out. And I've realised, it's okay to not have it all figured out ✨

Ive tagged a couple of people to join in the fun, but no pressure 😘

✨ 📚 International Women's Day 📚 ✨

Shout out to my fellow FMCs of booktok. I've met some pretty incredible people on my booksta journey. Here's a shout out to just a handful of women who have been a part of it.

Give them a follow, show them some love. They all post some pretty great content.

To all the women out there, keep kicking ass and taking names 🖤
