THANK YOU to Dave Quinn and @people for this beautiful write up about @benjaminbuttonmusical at @publictheaterny! And of course, thank you to the incomparable Joan Marcus for our fresh production photos. This company is unlike any other group of people I have ever known or worked with - and that’s not hyperbole. In honor of Button’s opening night tomorrow (!!!!!), a dump.
🔹
From the moment we set foot onstage for our first day of tech, the lighting design from @zoespurr_ld , the set design from @jethro_compton , and costume design from @anna.kelsey.design had me scrambling for my phone to capture the incredible beauty. Every angle, every scene, every detail asked to be noticed and admired. Plus, we’ve got a really good looking cast. 😍
🔹
There is such profound artistry in every molecule of this piece. And I am so proud and grateful to be among such brilliant minds in bringing this story to life.
🔹
Thank you, @publictheaterny @benjaminbuttonmusical for assembling the literal Theatrical Design Avengers. 😍🤩
🔹
Happy Opening Eve, Beautiful Buttons! ⏳🌙🌊

a little Benji B drop - we open on Wednesday and I just can’t believe it. It’s the privilege of a lifetime to be a piece in this version of this puzzle that is so spectacularly and lovingly built. The boat that brought this entire thing over here is made up of brilliant artists and incredible regulars that loved it hard enough that now this group of weirdos gets to do it here and the only thing I have room to feel is a sea of gratitude. Here are a few pictures of a few of my favorite things: the people who put this together and the people who’ve come to live it with us thus far. A little life inDEED!!!!!

More images from our excellent Bluegrass Jam at Lucinda’s. I love being a part of this crew and being able to document these wonderful people!

Another wonderful bluegrass jam at Lucinda’s has come and gone. I was especially happy to see my friend Charles Stacy join the jam at the first time! I also got to lead this incredible group of musicians in a couple songs: Blaze Foley’s “Oval Room” and John Prine’s “Paradise”. Can’t wait for next week!

At precisely six minutes past 7 p.m. on the 10th of October, 2026… I got to see @benjaminbuttonmusical for the second time! BUT at precisely six minutes past 7 p.m. on the 10th of October, 2026… my world shifted once again. This piece of theater is one of my all time favorites. It is one of the foremost greatest theatrical experiences I’ve ever had. I loved this show instantly and on such a visceral level after seeing it in London. I had resigned myself to it being a chance and considered myself lucky to just get the opportunity to see it once. But here we are almost 2 years later (628 days or exactly 1 year, 8 months, 20 days; BUT who’s counting HA) and I get to revisit one of my favorites pieces of art. It was truly only a matter of time. More to come💙⏳
