⭐️U12 Gold - Coach Katie⭐️
Coach Katie traded the baby blue 🩵 for the navy blue 💙 & has been with the Lakers since 2021! The Pmacs are a power duo in the Laker lax community (often in matching shoes) & Coach Katie brings so much passion to the teams she coaches! 🔥🔥

Team36 had a DAY in Blaine today at Blue Ox!

We loved seeing the boys get to compete against some different colored jerseys after all the work we have been putting in this spring. Excited to see what we do tomorrow! #BleedOrange #Team36 #Lacrosse #ClubLacrosse

As a young child, part of me always liked to have “boy” hobbies and play “boy” sports. My make-believe persona was usually that of a warrior, not a princess. Years later, we’d look back and laugh at the seven consecutive years of male-oriented Halloween photos (picture superhero costumes complete with plastic abs). Some of this is probably due to how much I looked up to my big brother and Dad, but it probably ran deeper. Subconsciously, I think choosing that stuff helped me feel stronger. As the child who could sometimes be a “scaredy-cat”, it felt safer.

In adolescence, there was a shift. A bit older and now able to better observe the female role models in my life (my mom, my Yiayia, my sister, and others), I began to see and understand the strength in them. Though it was a strength maybe different and less overtly obvious than the males I looked up to, and maybe not greater than, it was certainly no less than. Over time, I’d feel myself leaning more confidently into the femininity I always had, that always felt like the real me underneath any childhood insecurities. By adulthood, I felt I reached a balance. And it was only then that I began to feel myself growing into the most capable, most courageous, and strongest version I could be.

Anyway, it’s International Women’s Day, and I’m using it as an excuse to say that I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how, as women, there are just certain hurts and losses and fears that we alone carry, often quite silently, or supported perhaps by our innermost circle of understanding women. And how there’s a beautiful, unique strength we share in facing those things. Men have their own, too, of course.

Today and every day, I’m beyond grateful for the countless amazing women God has placed in my life, women who have provided the best possible example for me, balancing strength and softness, power and grace, courage and compassion and dignity. You know who you are, I love you, and I learn from you always.

Our 10U squads showed out this weekend! WOW! The future of PLGLAX is bright with the amount of talent on both of these teams! You all have set the bar high for our next year’s 10U teams! WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU LAKERS! 💛💙

🥈10U Navy took 2nd place at State!

Shoutout to our 10U coaches for all of their time & energy they gave to both teams this season! Coach Megan & Coach Brent with the Navy team & Coach Katie, Coach Jeff & Coach Trent with the Gold team. A special shoutout goes to Coach Grace - our goalie coach! She is the coach behind the scenes who makes it around to all of our teams to help our goalies! She typically is running from one field to the next & misses out on team photos - so glad we could snag her for our 10U photos!
