What I read this week! September 14th - 20th
My Heart Is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones: I read 68 pages, and I’m now 48% of the way into the book.
Then I started Thrashers by Julie Soto with @sdrosereads, and we are 143 pages in (42%).
Then I started a cross-stitching game that was created by @themuseumstitcher and her friends I believe. I needed to do 400 stitches for this week as one of my couples chosen was at the bottom of the leaderboard (Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik) and the crowd booed the judges and Carrie Ann mentioned illegal lifts. For Tatyana, I picked making snowflake ornaments and I ended up completing two of them going over the needed 400 stitches but that’s okay.
Q: What did you read last week?!

Nashville Market ended a week ago? Where did the time go?! I'm typing to you from the couch while nursing a cold that I'm so glad waited until after Market to hit, and reminiscing about what was my best market yet! "Best" not in a sale-y way, but because of the people I was able to spend time with. This year, more than ever I felt like was was reconnecting with friends throughout the weekend and that made it so much fun!

We had Market's Most Amazing team helping in the rooms again this year and these ladies made it so joyful! Thank you @elizabethanncanstitch @camthestitcher @themuseumstitcher and @wiksenbeth ! We couldn't and wouldn't want to do it without you!

Chatting with fellow designers and meeting so many new, talented friends was another highlight! I wish I had a photo of every person I had a cheerful conversation with. This industry is really growing and evolving and I'm excited to be a part of it! The inspiration was endless and this year I felt like I belong more than ever.❤️

The only downside of Market is that time with friends is too brief, and pesky work took up too much time🤣.

DND girls Night!!!
Some characters made friends, some got dirty, some never found their cheating brother, some broke their oath, things were stabbed.... I can still hear the mushroom scream.... (lol IYKYK)
It was so much fun playing a one shot for the first time. I came in feeling very ill prepared and intimidated but we all seemed to pick it up pretty quickly (according to our DM). We shouldn't be surprised though since we are bookloveds and gamers. We played from 3-9 pm but it did not feel like it because everyone was having so much fun!
Shout out to our Dungeon Master for being merciful and Brijin for teaching us/ advising us through the quest. Thank you to all 5 of you for being patient and letting me document this experience.
Cheers to us and I hope we start a campaign in the future!

The @Fable app really got me reading daily again which drove up my reading total and fueled my love of books again. Thank you @themuseumstitcher for sharing it with the #CrossStitchCommunity.

Goodbye, 2025! You have given me many happy memories that I'll carry forever. Some of the highlights of the year include moving into out forever home and settling into our new community.🏡 Although not as frequently as I'd like, I got to spend happy days with all of my parents learning, laughing and hugging them❤️. Celebrating little victories, living life, and leaning on my more-like-family bestie, Annie. 💞Growing HFLM throughout the year and making plans for the year to come (big announcement coming soon!) 🧵. An epic knitting girls trip with my out of state bestie, Liz to Seattle. ✈️A deep dive into knitting, which has been so good for my mental health.🧶 Friendships that grow through a phone screen that mean so much to me📱This list could go on but I'm also so very tired from the year, and the warm fuzzies of reflection may make me cry. Tonight we'll pop the bubbles and welcome a new year, but close out 2025 with lots of gratitude.

And to be clear, the bubbels will flow around 8pm bc I'll never make it to midnight 😂

Happy New Year friends!
