This week, nu-metal/rap-rock in India grows with Costheta’s (@alexaplaycostheta) single “Jungli.” Arijit Singh (@arijitsingh) continues to focus on music outside of the film space, collaborating with composer Prajakta Shukre (@prajaktashukre) and lyricist Manan Bhardwaj (@manan_bhardwaj_official) for the dramatic tune “Ya Tum.” Coke Studio Bharat brings in Ashok Maskeen (@ashokmasken), Madhur Sharma (@madhur_sharmaofficial) and Swarit Shukl (@swaritshukl) to be inspired by Bulleh Shah’s poetry on “Bulleya Ve.”

On the hip-hop front, Bhadrankar (@bhadrankar_) deploys sitar over beats for “Ladki Kathiyawadi” and Danny Pandit (@dannyypandit) flips a famous Asha Bhosle/Laxmikant-Pyarelal song into a rap banger on “Hungama” with producer-composer Year Down (@year_down).

COSTHETA Goes Savage on “Jungli” And Boy! It Hits Hard.

Mumbai-based Assamese vocalist/rapper/producer hybrid @alexaplaycostheta returns with a ferocious new single and he’s absolutely seething.

We are talking about “Jungli”, a raw outburst of rage, fusing rap grit with crushing new generation nu metal intensity. It’s aggressive, unrelenting, and sharply written, something only a handful of artists in India could consistently pulled off.

In "Jungli", Costheta’s evolution is evident, both in his vocal delivery and in the scale of his production.

Backed by striking artwork of @drawbot_shodhan , bone-crushing guitars by @alexaplaycostheta and @samblzck and a tight, punishing mix and master by @chaitanyanirantar , “Jungli” feels less like a standalone track and more like a warning shot for something bigger on the horizon.
