🎎The Doll Factory ~ Book Feature🎎
By Elizabeth MacNeal
Available Now!

Thank you to @elizabethmacneal @atriabooks @thenetwork.stream for my #gifted copy! This sounds like Perfect spooky season stream or read!

Synopsis: Obsession is an art.

In 1850s London, the Great Exhibition is being erected in Hyde Park and, among the crowd watching the dazzling spectacle, two people meet by happenstance. For Iris, an arrestingly attractive aspiring artist, it is a brief and forgettable moment. But for Silas, a curiosity collector enchanted by all things strange and beautiful, the meeting marks a new beginning.

When Iris is asked to model for Pre-Raphaelite artist Louis Frost, she agrees on the condition that he will also teach her to paint. Suddenly, her world begins to expand beyond her wildest dreams—but she has no idea that evil is waiting in the shadows. Silas has only thought of one thing since that chance meeting, and his obsession is darkening by the day.

Have you read the book or watched the show❓

Thank you @atriabooks for my copy of The Doll Factory!

I was immediately interested in the book from the time period and the gothic atmosphere.
The Doll Factory delivers in weird, a little creepy, and mystery. I first watched the show (9! @thenetwork.stream !) and immediately was immersed in the story. The taxidermist - Silas had me intrigued and equally creeped out by his obsession with iris. On the other hand we have Louis, a painter whose obsession is quite different - more so with his work. As iris and Louis’s relationship develops, Silas’ obsession grows.

Thriller isn’t my usual genre but if you love gothic atmospheric drama with weirdness, give this a shot!

What are your weekend plans?

The usual over here: lion taming and shark wrestling. Might go sky diving if the vibe is right. In reality I’m starting THE DOLL FACTORY on @thenetwork.stream.

Based on the international bestseller, The Doll Factory follows Iris (Esmé Creed-Miles), a young woman dreaming of a life beyond rigid Victorian London. When she falls in with a mysterious painter who promises her an artistic education, dark secrets begin to emerge as girls across the city start disappearing.

The Network is a new, free streamer that only focuses on premium, original series, and only releases 1 per month. You can find it at “The Network Dot Stream” and download the app on your favorite streaming device including Apple, Roku, Samsung, Fire TV, Xfinity and more.

Thank you @atriabooks for this awesome opportunity! #thedollfactory #thenetwork

You can never predict women 🥲😮‍💨

The Artist is an American Gilded Age murder mystery and period comedy television series created by Aram Rappaport, which premiered on November 27, 2025. The historical fiction series is streamed primarily on The Network, a free streaming platform founded by Rappaport himself, and is also distributed via MGM+ internationally.

A proposal denial can be one of the most emotional moments in someone's life, because it mixes hope, vulnerability, and heartbreak all at once. Whether it happens in love, friendship, business, or even a life opportunity, being rejected often leaves a person questioning themselves for a while, but it also teaches maturity and self-respect. Sometimes people say no not because someone isn't good enough, but because feelings, timing, or life paths simply don't match. In the end, a denied proposal may hurt deeply in the moment, yet it can become the reason someone grows stronger, wiser, and eventually finds a connection that is truly mutual.

The historical fiction series is streamed primarily on The Network, a free streaming platform founded by Rappaport himself, and is also distributed via MGM+ internationally.

🎬 Plot Overview:

Set during the twilight of the Gilded Age, the series blends historical reality with absurdist fiction. The storyline follows robber baron Norman Henry and his wife Marian as they host a collection of the era's most famous celebrities and historical figures at their eccentric, failing country estate. The gathering focuses on business dealings and artistic commissions but quickly shifts into a scandalous, chaotic murder mystery when the host himself winds up dead.

🎬The Artist
.

As a woman named Marian attempts to speak, an older man repeatedly shouts at her to shut up, his frustration building until he loses his footing and tumbles backward down a staircase. The scene is framed as a meme with the on-screen caption "Me after I said I'd be calm this time," highlighting the irony of his explosive reaction. This irony is punctuated by the sudden cut to the iconic "Directed by Robert B. Weide" end credits, accompanied by the upbeat, jaunty theme song from Curb Your Enthusiasm. This specific editing style is a widely recognized internet trope used to signal a moment of self-inflicted failure or awkward social collapse, transforming what might have been a serious dramatic moment into a humorous illustration of losing one's temper despite best intentions.
