What you wear to family gatherings is a statement—whether you realize it or not.
@coachingwithyaya talked about family seeing the old version of you.
Here’s what I know: When you show up in clothes that represent who you WERE (not who you ARE), you reinforce that outdated narrative.
The family gathering style strategy:
What NOT to do:
❌ Dress to please them (“appropriate,” or whatever their expectations are)
❌ Wear clothes from your “old life” to avoid comments
❌ Downplay your current style to keep peace
What TO do:
✓ Dress as your CURRENT self, unapologetically
✓ Choose pieces that make YOU feel grounded and confident
✓ Wear something that reminds you who you’ve become
Strategic choices:
→ Well-fitting clothes (signals self-care and self-respect)
→ Your authentic color palette (not what they think you should wear)
→ One piece that makes you feel powerful (armor, not costume)
When they see you’ve changed on the outside, it’s harder to treat you like you haven’t changed on the inside.

Your style is part of your boundary work.
That’s #InsideOutConfidence—showing up authentically, inside AND out.

Make sure you’re following both @coachingwithyaya and @thenewchapterstyle.

So many women are waiting for permission to take up space.
To speak up.
To be seen.
To stop shrinking.

On this live, Tiffany @policyandfashion and I talked about what it really means to give yourself permission through your mindset and your style.

Because confidence isn’t just internal.
And style isn’t just clothes.
They work together.

If this conversation hit home and you’re ready to stop hiding and start showing up differently, we created something for you.

“Are you still single?”
“When are you planning on having kids?”
“Have you gained weight?”
“Have you lost weight?”
“Why do you look so tired?”

We all know that family or social gatherings can activate insecurities you thought you’d outgrown.

Your friends and family’s outdated version of you clashes with who you’re becoming.

Even though, you’re showing up as the new you… their evasive questions cause your nervous system to remember the days you were quiet, unsure, or shrinking yourself to make everyone else comfortable.

Let’s fix that.

Your confidence toolkit for ANY room you walk into:
- A grounding script: “I belong here. I’m allowed to take up space.”
- A boundary script: “That’s not a conversation I’m available for.”
- A visibility shift: Walk in with your shoulders back + your voice ready, even if it shakes.
- A mindset reframe: Someone else’s opinion doesn’t get to decide who you are today.

Here’s where Tiffany @thenewchapterstyle comes in, because how you choose to present yourself externally can support the internal work you’re doing.

When your outfit aligns with your energy, your confidence gets a boost before you even say a word.

We’re building deeper into this next week… because something BIG is coming for the women ready to stop hiding and start showing up fully.

And don’t forget to tune into our Instagram Live tomorrow at 6:30 pm CST/7:30 pm EST where we’re showing you how to stop hiding and start showing up.

Holiday party outfit anxiety is real.

Let’s eliminate it.
@coachingwithyaya gave you the inner game for social gatherings.
⬇️
Now let’s solve the outer game—because “What do I even WEAR?” shouldn’t be the reason you skip the event.

The Holiday Party Style Formula:
🍸 For cocktail parties: → ONE statement piece (sequin blazer, velvet pants, bold accessory) → Everything else simple and comfortable → Shoes you can actually stand in for 2+ hours

💼 For casual office parties: → Your best jeans that actually fit → Elevated top (silk, satin, interesting neckline) → One unexpected element (earrings, shoes, belt)

👠 For formal events: → Dress/suit that doesn’t require constant adjustment → Shapewear that actually fits!→ Backup comfortable shoes in your car (always)

The non-negotiables: ✓ Must fit your ACTUAL body TODAY
✓ Must allow you to sit, eat, and move
✓ Must make you feel like an elevated version of yourself (not a costume)
When your outfit works, you can focus on the room—not your waistband.
That’s #InsideOutConfidence—inner preparation + outer strategy.
Follow both of us for the complete approach.

If social events drain your soul… this one’s for you.

As someone with social anxiety, I’ll be the first one to admit social gatherings are low-key a confidence boot camp.

Small talk with strangers? ✅
Random questions about your life choices? ✅
Trying not to compare yourself to every woman in the room? ✅✅

There’s a few things I do so that I don’t overthink every intersection. Here’s how you can be surviving and thriving this season for all the social gatherings:

Before you go:
• Remind yourself: you’re not performing, you’re just showing up as you.
• Have 2–3 questions ready to ask others, takes the pressure off feeling “on.”
• Set a realistic goal like “I’ll stay 45 minutes,” not “I must be the life of the party.”

While you’re there:
• When comparison pops up, don’t grab it. Let it walk right past you.
• Shift focus from “How do I look?” to “I wonder what she’s about?”
• Take a bathroom break if you need to breathe and reset; that’s emotional regulation.

After you leave:
• Celebrate the fact that you showed up. That alone is confidence work.
• Don’t replay every conversation hunting for mistakes, you’re not on trial.

The confidence isn’t in being perfect…
it’s in being present.

And don’t forget @Thenewchapterstyle is coming in hot on tomorrow with the style side of this whole equation, because yes… what you wear absolutely affects how you show up.

We’re breaking ALL of this down together inside Inside Out Confidence —
✨ Live Tuesday, December 16 ✨
Come hang with us and learn how confidence + style work together to help you show up like the woman you want to be.

And make sure you’re following us both @coachingwithyaya and @Thenewchapterstyle for the full survival kit.

You don’t need other people’s approval. But you DO need your own.
@coachingwithyaya is spot on—external validation shouldn’t be your fuel.
But here’s what I see all the time:
People wearing clothes they don’t even like because:
→ ‘It was on sale’
→ ‘Someone else picked it’
→ ‘It’s what I’m supposed to wear’
→ ‘I’m not important enough to care’
That last one? That’s the real problem.
Dressing well FOR YOURSELF is an act of self-approval:
I matter enough to dress in a way that makes ME feel good.’ ‘My opinion of myself is the one that counts.’ #I deserve to like what I see in the mirror.’
You’re not performing for others. You’re honoring yourself.
Inside validation + Outside expression = #InsideOutConfidence
Still not following both @coachingwithyaya and @thenewchapterstyle? this is why you need both voices.

Your comfort zone might be cute… but sis, it’s also keeping you stuck.

Real confidence?
She shows up when you’re uncomfortable:

- Having the conversation you’ve been avoiding
- Setting the boundary you know someone won’t like
- Asking for what you actually want (even if your voice shakes)

Growth doesn’t yell, it whispers:
‘Do it scared.’

But here’s where it gets good…
@thenewchapterstyle is about to come in tomorrow with a different angle. Because yes, your emotional comfort zone needs to stretch, but your physical comfort? What you wear?

Oh that matters. A LOT.

Different kinds of comfort serve different purposes.
Stick with us.

You need both the inner work and the outer expression.

Stretch your confidence comfort zone.

But never compromise your physical comfort zone.
@coachingwithyaya wants you to get emotionally uncomfortable.
⬇️
I’m telling you: Your CLOTHES should never make you physically uncomfortable.

I don’t care if it’s ‘on trend.’ I don’t care if it ‘looks amazing’ on the hanger. I don’t care if everyone else is wearing it.
If it:
❌ Digs into your skin
❌ Restricts your movement
❌ Requires constant adjustment
❌ Makes you self-conscious
...it’s not serving you. Period.
True style confidence means:
✓ Clothes that FIT your body
✓ Fabrics that breathe and move
✓ Styles that work for YOUR life
✓ Comfort that lets you focus on everything else
Push yourself emotionally. Pamper yourself physically.
That’s #InsideOutConfidence.
Follow both accounts for the complete approach.

Sometimes the real flex…
is who you are when nobody’s watching.

Because confidence that only shows up when there’s an audience?

That’s not confidence, that’s performing.

The real kind looks like this:
- You hype yourself up without needing validation
- You stay grounded even when someone has an opinion
- You choose YOU, even when no one will see it or applaud it

That’s how you know your confidence isn’t borrowed, it’s built.

And tomorrow, Tiffany (@thenewchapterstyle) is jumping in with something important:

Your confidence shouldn’t depend on external approval…but there IS power in approving of how YOU show up.

Different conversation. Same truth.

Follow both of us; you really do need the inside and the outside.
