▪︎ New Statesman merupakan majalah berita mingguan asal Britania Raya yang dikenal melalui tulisan-tulisan kritis tentang politik, isu-isu aktual, budaya, serta pemikiran sosial. Didirikan di London pada 12 April 1913 oleh tokoh-tokoh Fabian Society, antara lain Sidney dan Beatrice Webb, dengan dukungan George Bernard Shaw dan H.G. Wells.

▪︎ Selama lebih dari satu abad, New Statesman konsisten menghadirkan analisis politik Inggris dan internasional, resensi buku, ulasan kebudayaan, hingga esai yang mengupas berbagai persoalan sosial. Majalah ini dikenal memiliki corak pemikiran progresif dan berhaluan kiri moderat.

Roger has won the TZS Eliot Prize (2019), the RSL Ondaatje Prize (2020) and Cholmondeley Award (2024). He is a Royal So Irtysh of Literature Fellow and has been shortlisted for the Derek Walcott prize for poetry, the OCM Bocas poetry prize, the Oxford Booked Poetry Prize, and the European Prize for Freedom.

His collection A Portable Paradise was named a New Statesman Book of the year. His book Home is Not a Place, created in collaboration with Johny Pitts was Guardian Poetry Book of the year and shortlisted for British Book Award. He has also been a collaborator with the artist Hurvin Anderson Monograph published by Rizzoli in 2022.

Roger Robinson will be joining Anthony Joseph and Rachel Long in this month’s edition of poetry club. Also VIBES, TALK and MUSIC. Place are limited. Free but you have to book tickets. First come first served. Roger and @harriselliottstudio

As someone who was so insecure about the way she looked (obviously because everyone around me reminded me of my acne), I hope this reel makes you feel a little better.
Beauty standards are getting distorted with all the fillers and filters and before a child can understand that they don’t have to reach a level to be called “beautiful,” they’re already exposed to so much content on the internet.

So here’s an effort to make this place, as a beauty/skincare content creator, a little more real for you all 🫶
