Last week I had the amazing opportunity to see The Machine read live in front of an audience. After spending three years developing this play, I am so grateful to Breaking and Entering Theatre Collective for choosing to feature my play. Huge thanks as well to Sam Toy Ozeas, who directed the production, all the actors who stepped up, and everyone who came out during all the ash! So much love!

So much has happened in the last 8 months it feels like too much for one post, but it's amounted to some of the best moments of my life...

- Went into production on my first feature film as a producer!

- Filmed in 8 different states (and counting?) for the project, and reunited with some old high school friends in the process while making tons of new ones.

- Ramped up my IC career quite a bit, and worked with some incredible people!

- Acted in a short film for the first time and felt really pampered for two weeks <3

- Volunteered at Gotham Week again and met some lovely industry folks.

- Spent tons of time with my favorite people in the world :)

This felt like the first year I've truly been fully a part of the film industry, and it's been more than I've ever dreamed of. I feel so lucky to be doing what I'm doing right now, and I'm working harder than I've ever worked to make the most of this.

There's so much more to come. Shout-out to @caden_rb @luiss.ssalazar and @evariste_gindrey for being an amazing team to work with throughout this year as we get this film made. Can't wait to be less cryptic about it and share more details :)

From hospital stays to house fires it’s been a hectic year but I’m so thankful for all my friends and family who have helped me through it.

On this day last year we began production on my first short film. Attaboy is the story of a rambunctious trans boy putting up one hell of a fight to be seen in his own home. It’s a personal story that hits many of the emotions and difficult conversations I faced transitioning as a kid.

And I’ve been largely silent about it ever since. I want to now take a moment to catch you all up.

This week I picture-locked Attaboy. And it means my slow-poke ass will no longer be hoarding this film, scrutinizing over every detail to illusionary perfection. Now our creative collaborators will be able to infuse their magical touch — enhancing the sonic scape and designing brilliant color grade that’ll mark the finishing touches to complete this film.

There is still a way ahead of us and we will need continued support…but for me, personally, the hard part is over. We have the story. We have the film. And like I promised to myself two years ago when I wrote the first draft, I will not stop until it’s done. As slow and painful as it can be—My way (I do have a little bit of Sonny in me Ifykyk.)

Ok I have more to say but I’ll save that for the next post.
