The Grand Finale over Virginia Beach. ⚡️⚓️ (Swipe left!)

Wrapping up my special air show chronicle with the ultimate afterburner climax! Moving from the tarmac taxi lines right into roaring 5th-generation tactical maneuvers and historic formation passes.

Swipe across to see the full showcase: catching this pristine F-35C Lightning II cleanly tracking past the Taxiway A6 markers, before pulling hard into an aggressive banking climb against heavy, dramatic clouds. Also highlighted the raw power of a high-speed level pass with a faint wingtip vapor trail, and closed out the sequence with the official U.S. Navy Legacy Flight formation featuring a Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet flying locked in tight synchronization with two F-35Cs. The perfect heritage tribute to naval power! 🛫💨

Guardians of the coastline. 🛟✈️ (Swipe left!)

Part 2 of my chronological air show chronicle! Moving from tactical strike formations straight into heavy turboprop search-and-rescue power with the U.S. Coast Guard Lockheed Martin HC-130J Super Hercules (Tail 2017).

I captured these sequences back on Friday, September 19th, 2025, during the private Special Needs Air Show hosted by The Noblemen. Caught this massive four-engine workhorse out of Air Station Elizabeth City tracking on a low-altitude pass (showing its extended trailing wire antenna!) before taxiing head-on right down the tarmac line. Swipe across to see the full scale of that massive wingspan! 🦅💨

The Fleet Flyby and open-canopy rollouts! ⚓️🛫 (Swipe left!)

Kicking off a special three-day chronicle highlighting the incredible performances from the 2025 NAS Oceana Air Show! I had the absolute privilege of capturing these sequences on Friday, September 19th during the private Special Needs Air Show.

This incredible day is hosted annually by The Noblemen, a local philanthropic non-profit dedicated to helping children with special needs across Hampton Roads. Their private flight line chalet gives local families an unforgettable, crowd-free look at the master jet base's best power!

Swipe across to see the full operational sequence: leading the charge is the massive fleet flyby formation with a Northrop Grumman E-2D Advanced Hawkeye and six Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornets from VFA-143 and VFA-11 in flawless synchronization. Also captured the raw power of the Super Hornets executing their tactical takeoffs, before cooling down on the tarmac taxiing back along the lines with the canopies wide open! A massive shoutout to The Noblemen and NAS Oceana for putting on such an impactful event for the community.

Some of our team at COVA had the chance to play in The Noblemen golf tournament recently, and supporting an organization like this is always an easy yes for us. ⛳💙

@thenoblemenvb
The Noblemen continue to make an incredible impact across Hampton Roads through their mission to help local children and families in need. From their adaptive bike program to stepping in for families during difficult times, the work they do truly changes lives.

We’re grateful to support organizations that care so deeply about our community, and of course, have a little fun while doing it 😉

Swipe to see some of our shenanigans from the day!

@thenoblemenvb are #helping #kids and #changinglives in #virginiabeach , and this week they had their annual #golf tournament at Hell’s Point. This event raises money to purchase adaptive bikes for children with limited mobility, and helps change lives…..one putt at a time…..
