POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

FROM THE WEST TO THE EAST. 💚
We came to Toronto for the Melamoon finale by @facecoalition, and of course, we brought a little piece of the West with us.

Inside The Nod Boxes were products from businesses we’re supporting across Western Canada. But the goal was never simply to hand out boxes.

It was to get those businesses in.
Into new hands.
Into new rooms.
Into new conversations.

And onto the radar of people who can open new doors.
At Melamoon, those products reached entrepreneurs, ecosystem leaders, decision makers and policymakers, including The Honourable @rechie.valdez, Minister of Women and Gender Equality and Secretary of State (Small Business and Tourism), as well as @iamtiffanycallender and members of the @facecoalition community.

A big Nod to @iamtiffanycallender and the entire @facecoalition team for continuing to create meaningful pathways for Black entrepreneurs across Canada, and for bringing founders, capital, community and opportunity into the same room.

And A worthy Nod to @blaxpo for being part of the wider experience and the conversations around it.
For us, this is what discovery looks like when it has somewhere to go.

West to East.
Business to business.
Room to room.
Discovery to opportunity.
This is the work we’re building at The Nod.

GET IN THE NOD.

SMALL BUSINESS NEEDS MORE THAN APPLAUSE. IT NEEDS ACCESS.

At the 2026 Melamoon Pitch Competition finale by @facecoalition, The Honourable @rechie.valdez, Minister of Women and Gender Equality and Secretary of State (Small Business and Tourism), spoke about the federal government’s renewed $189 million investment in the Black Entrepreneurship Program and celebrated the entrepreneurs building what comes next.

For The Nod, moments like this matter because access is not abstract.

It looks like businesses being introduced beyond the markets they already know.
Products reaching people with influence and purchasing power.
Founders getting closer to capital, policy, partnerships and opportunity.

And we made sure the West was represented.

The businesses that travelled East with us through The Nod Boxes included:

@theeleveessentials
@shoptmdbeauty
@nursekellisue
@qudezyns
@kaisopeppersauce
@imole.candles
@zikoranaturals
@thechopshq
@canvas_kit
@dripluxurycare
@watchmakerlaw
@dr_christy_crismyla

A big Nod to @iamtiffanycallender and the entire @facecoalition team for continuing to build meaningful access for Black entrepreneurs across Canada.

And A Nod to @blaxpo for creating the space for these conversations, connections and businesses to come together.

For us, the work is clear: build the infrastructure that gets businesses closer to customers, capital, opportunity and ownership.

Congratulations to every Melamoon finalist. Keep building.

When Black entrepreneurs get the capital, visibility and connections to move, the impact goes far beyond the pitch stage.

At the 2026 Melamoon Pitch Competition finale by @facecoalition, The Honourable @rechie.valdez, Minister of Women and Gender Equality and Secretary of State (Small Business and Tourism), celebrated the finalists and spoke to the federal government’s renewed $189 million investment in the Black Entrepreneurship Program.

We came to Toronto with The Nod Boxes containing very well curated products from businesses across Western Canada, bringing them into new hands, new rooms and new conversations alongside @iamtiffanycallender, the @facecoalition community and leaders from across the ecosystem.

That’s the work.

Creating visibility. Opening pathways. Moving businesses beyond their immediate markets and into the places where opportunity can happen.

A big Nod to the entire @facecoalition team for continuing to create meaningful pathways for Black entrepreneurs across Canada.

And A Nod to @blaxpo for hosting this amazing experience.

Congratulations to every Melamoon finalist. More rooms. More ownership. More opportunities.

Thanksgiving is about gathering, sharing good food, and celebrating the people and communities that make life a little richer.

And sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do is remember the hands behind what we enjoy. The baker who stayed up late, the caterer who put love into every platter, the creative who made your table feel extra special.

This Thanksgiving, as we gather around the table, let’s make room for the Black-owned businesses bringing flavour, creativity, and heart to our celebrations.

Wishing you a beautiful Thanksgiving filled with good food, great company, and plenty of reasons to be grateful.

Remember the energy of BTF 2.0? The conversations ran deep.

The panelists dropped gems you're still thinking about. Strangers who left as collaborators.
Now imagine all of that, but bigger.

BTF Summit 3.0 is coming, and you do not want to hear about it secondhand.
June 2027

Block your calendar. Tell your team. Bring the friend who needs to be in the room.

Last time, we connected, shared and learned. This time, we're taking it further.
Who's pulling up with us? Tag someone who needs to be there.
