They say you become like the company you keep.

Finalizing the @thenoun.mag’s next issue—we’ve been spending so much time around art, museums, and creative projects lately that apparently even our quesadillas are demanding gallery representation.

I accidentally overcooked this one, and somehow, this happened.

Mav still wanted to eat it.

And since they say you are what you eat… we might have to put that theory to the test during this week’s art projects. 😂

A recognition that brings Italian marble sculpture beyond national borders.

Sket.chboo (@sket.chboo) approaches graphite with an almost cinematic sensitivity—building portraits through shadow, restraint, and emotional atmosphere rather than realism alone.

Her work was one of four artists selected from around the world to be featured in Conversations With Artists, a recurring series inside The Noun where we share exclusive interviews and invite artists to offer educational insight into their world and creative process.

Read her full interview on our blog or access the complete feature inside The Noun No. 001 — The Archivist, available now in digital and limited print editions.

Enter BTSARMY to access the full 120-page ad-free digital edition in ebook and editorial formats for $7 in honor of BTS’ return.

Maternal Eternal is a visual study of motherhood through art history and cultural memory.

Created for Mother’s Day, the series explores how maternal figures have appeared throughout mythology, religion, museum collections, painting, sculpture, and historical tradition across civilizations—from Ancient Egypt and Confucian China to Renaissance Europe and the Andes.

From Japan to France, Korea to Italy, these words reveal the ways people live beside books — stacking them, collecting them, displaying them, dreaming through them.

Four words for people who love books:

積ん読 (tsundoku) — Japan
The act of acquiring books and letting them pile up, often lovingly unread.

Bibliothèque imaginaire — France
An imagined library made of books one dreams of reading, remembering, or living beside.

책거리 (chaekgeori) — Korea
A traditional Korean art genre celebrating books, learning, scholarship, and beautiful objects.

Antilibrary — Italy
A personal collection of unread books, valued for what remains unknown.

Like many things in life, meaning is often found in the process itself. Not everything needs to be finished to hold value.

Consider this your invitation to spend the weekend slowly — wandering through bookstores, libraries, galleries, museums, and quiet corners around the world. Absorb your surroundings.

The Noun Issue No. 001 — The Archivist is available now in digital and print and features curated guides to bookstores, galleries, museums, libraries, cafés, and cultural spaces across the globe.

Ethereal capture by George & Crissa Prieto (@georgeandcris) of Admont Abbey Library (@benediktinerstiftadmont) in Austria. This is one of the libraries featured in our latest issue “The Archivist” specifically within our list of “100 Museums, Libraries, & Cultural Districts Worth Traveling For.”

Admont Abbey Library in Austria is the largest monastery library in the world. Built in 1776 inside a Benedictine monastery, it still exists within an active abbey where monks live and work today.

The library contains around 70,000 books in the main hall alone, though most of the historic texts are preserved archives rather than books visitors can freely handle. Hidden doors are built directly into the bookshelves so monks and staff could move quietly between rooms without disrupting the space.

The fresco-painted ceilings were created by Austrian artist Bartolomeo Altomonte and were designed to represent human knowledge, philosophy, and enlightenment.

Honestly, it feels cinematic because it was built during a time when books, learning, and ideas were treated with enormous reverence.
