We had a rather unexpected visitor at the shop today. One of the mice from The Nutcracker decided to take a break from terrorizing ballerinas and come check our merchandise.

The Nutmeg Conservatory puts on an incredible production of The Nutcracker every year. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and check it out.

Finished up my first year with @thenutmegballet a while ago! It’s so hard to put into words just how special this year has been and how much Nutmeg means to me. This year has been filled with so many unforgettable memories, experiences, and moments that I will carry with me forever. I’ve had the opportunity to perform roles I’ve dreamed of for so long, challenge myself in ways I never thought I could, and grow not only as a dancer but also as a person. I’ve learned so much from my incredible teachers, who have pushed me, supported me, and believed in me every step of the way. I’m also so grateful for all of the amazing friends I’ve made along the way who made every rehearsal, performance, and long day so much more special. Nutmeg has truly become my home away from home. I’m beyond grateful for everything! Thank you @thenutmegballet for such an incredible first year! I’ll forever hold this year close to my heart and can’t wait for all that’s to come!

🎉 RECORD-BREAKING COMMUNITY IMPACT: Northwest Corner Gives 2026 raised $768,185.96 for 38 nonprofit organizations across Northwest Connecticut—the largest campaign total in the program’s history!

From early childhood education and affordable housing to food assistance, mental health services, the arts, youth programs and more, these funds will strengthen local nonprofits and help move vital projects forward throughout the Northwest Corner.

Community donations were matched dollar-for-dollar, up to each nonprofit’s campaign goal, through the generosity of Northwest CT Community Foundation fundholders and community partners.

“There are many ways that good can happen. This is one of them. Need was met with generosity, and each gift was made greater through the match. In the end, this is nothing less than the character of our community coming together to make things better,” said Brian Mattiello, CEO of the Northwest CT Community Foundation.

Since its launch in 2020, Northwest Corner Gives has generated nearly $2.4 million for nonprofits serving Northwest Connecticut.

Thank you to every donor, participating nonprofit, fundholder and community partner who made this record-breaking campaign possible. Together, we are making Northwest Connecticut stronger. 💙

☀️ Summer silhouettes ☀️

Thank you so much @thenutmegballet for having me as an RA for these last two weeks of summer. Additionally, thank you for all of the growth, encouragement and amazing training I have experienced and received the last two years. What I told a resident this session is 100 % true- Nutmeg becomes home incredibly fast. Hope to be back next summer ❤️
