During the 2026 long course season, 17 new women’s British, English, Scottish and Welsh records have been equalled or broken.

Four new British Records were rewritten by Freya Colbert in the 200m freestyle; Katie Shanahan in the 200m backstroke; and Angharad Evans in the 100m and 200m breaststroke. Lauren Cox and Keanna MacInnes also equalled the British Records in the 50m backstroke and 100m butterfly this year, respectively.

As well as the women mentioned above setting home nation records in their events, Keanna MacInnes also set a Scottish Record in the 200m butterfly. Ciara Schlosshan ended her career holding a new Scottish Record in the 50m butterfly too. Meanwhile Theodora Taylor set three new Welsh Records in the 50m and 100m freestyle and the 200m individual medley.
