What an incredible honor to join Mayor Heilman in recognizing the legendary Al Pacino, not only for his extraordinary career, but for his lasting connection to West Hollywood through The Actors Studio West. 🎭🎬

From The Godfather to the stage, his work has shaped generations of actors and audiences. A true master of his craft and an important part of West Hollywood’s artistic legacy. #WeHo #TheActorsStudio #TheGodfather

RIP EVA MARIE SAINT 🙏🏻
She was also a member of the Actors Studio. After a play I was in that had been produced by the studio, let out, a friend of mine said, “Josie! That’s Eva Marie Saint!” She was in the audience!
I almost fell over!
Marlon Brando was my favorite so of course I knew her from On the Waterfront. She passed away today at 102 years old! Incredible. Watch a little bit of her great work in these clips. What a long life to be celebrated. 👏 She will be missed!

🇺🇸 Robert Christian (1939 – 1983) was an actor who died of AIDS in NYC, at the age of 43.

He later moved to New York and studied at @theofficialactorsstudio with Lee Strasberg and went on to appear in numerous stage productions, winning an @obieawards in 1976 for his performance in Athol Fugard’s ‘Blood Knot’ at the @mtc_nyc.

Robert appeared as Detective Bob Morgan on ‘Another World’ from January to December 1982, which he left just before he died of AIDS in January 1983.

Just before joining the cast of ‘Another World’, Robert had roles on ‘All My Children’ and ‘Search for Tomorrow’. His final performance as Marcel in the TV movie version of ‘Piaf’ aired posthumously in 1984.

“The Actors Studio became for actors what Israel is for the Jews.”
-Elia Kazan (as quoted by Professor Mel Gordon)
The Actors Studio the world's most celebrated sacred space and workshop for professional actors with lifetime members such as:

To quote Actors Studio’s president Al Pacino:

On September 27th in Los Angeles, a benefit for The Actors Studio with a staged reading of "The Indian Wants the Bronx" starring Jay Charan directed by Tracey Silver followed by a live interview with Al Pacino. If you are in LA please attend. Tickets here:
