📍Gokyo Ri and Renjo La Pass Trek, Nepal

This was one of the most physically gruelling things I’ve ever done. At 5,500m+ you’re working with roughly half the oxygen your body is used to. You’re trekking 10-16 hours a day. Every step takes massive willpower and effort. Sleep is patchy, the cold gets into everything, and your body keeps asking you why you’re doing this.

It wasn’t eventually about the physical challenge after a point. When you’re up against real adversity, you realise who you are. You see how you handle discomfort, how you talk to yourself when you’re exhausted, and with which mindset you rise up to challenges.

The spirit of exploration is innate to human nature. We’re wired to become more powerful, more joyous the harder it gets.

Grateful. More so, grateful for friends you get to experience the highest highs and the lowest lows with.

We came, we saw, we sure as hell conquered!

Sometimes the best adventures are the ones you never plan.

A spontaneous 13-day trek to Gokyo Ri and Renjo La Pass turned into one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. Breathtaking landscapes, incredible Sherpas, countless bowls of Dal Bhat, and a group that made every challenge, laugh, and memory even more special.

Here's to the mountains, the friendships, and the adventures that stay with you long after they're over. Until the next climb. 🏔️❤️

Today marks four years to the first @avayavadining experience. Over 20 experiences and more than 120 unique seasonal vegetarian dishes, a space free from the walls of pincodes and passports, away from the dance of caviars and mock meats, one,not built for profit but for sharing.

An experience I established out of a philosophy me and most Indians have unknowingly grown up with and still do at home - eating seasonally. Keeping it vegetarian and experimental was a professional and personal choice .The micro seasonal experiences may have paused for now, but the philosophy continues and will only grow wherever I go :)

I’m not from Delhi and apart from a few old friends, I didn’t know anyone particularly from the industry when i started Avayava, but they opened their farms, their hearts and made this possible.
I am grateful for each and every one of you who supported my crazy - the growers to the eaters and the hosts. The local vendors, mandi, and the Phalsa guy on cycle. the ones who supported through instagram. Knowingly or unknowingly a lot of people were a part of this ;)

Till the next time I #seeyouthere
