The most fun and delicious route Iโ€™ve ever ran! I ran from patch to patch on Sauvie Island in Portland, enjoying the sweetest fall treats and Halloween whimsy. My Route ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ START: parked at Bella Organics, ate an elephant ear with peanut butter. -> Topaz Farm, where I ran through their fields a bit, pet some goats and donkeys, and ate pumpkin bread. -> Sauvie Island Farm, a u-pick with no food offerings unless you want to gnaw on a raw cabbage. -> GM Farms, grabbed a fresh apple here. -> The Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island, where I finally got a hold of an Apple cider donut. -> Bella Organics, grabbed a pumpkin and my car. Things To Consider ๐Ÿ’ก Bella Organics is cash only for their snack bar. Youโ€™ll have access to water and restrooms at all but one stop. Time of day will greatly affect your enjoyment. You canโ€™t run directly from GM Farms to The Pumpkin Patch, Google Maps will say there is a through road but itโ€™s private. Tips ๐Ÿฆบ BE SAFE youโ€™ll be running on the road. Wear bright clothes, scootch to the side, and donโ€™t run during heavy traffic times. The road is also very exposed, if itโ€™s raining youโ€™ll be soaked, if itโ€™s sunny youโ€™ll be scorched. Pick your route based on when you want whatever snacks youโ€™ll find at that particular patch. I wanted to start big, then have a break, and finish strong. ๐ŸŽƒ PUMPKIN PICASSOS WANTED! ๐ŸŽจ Weโ€™re getting into the Halloween spirit this Sunday with FREE pumpkin painting at our Beaverton + Vancouver locations! Weโ€™ve rounded up 60 locally grown pumpkins from our friends at @theoriginalpumpkinpatch on Sauvie Island, and weโ€™re handing them over to you to work your magic. Weโ€™ll be giving out prizes for our three favorite creations at each location, plus plenty of candy for all the little ghosts and goblins. ๐Ÿ‘น๐Ÿฌ Come dressed in your Halloween best! ๐Ÿ‘ป Four-legged friends are encouraged to show off their costumes, too! And if youโ€™re in Beaverton, swing by while youโ€™re out enjoying the Booverton festivities! Festivities kick off at noon on Sunday, October 25. All ages welcome. Pumpkins are limited to 30 per location, so come early. Think you can out-paint a six-year-old? After a mildly traumatic night for Aelita with her fuel line basically crumbling into nothing and her dumping an entire (freshly filled) gas tank on the ground, she made it to her first ever pumpkin patch! Got to take lots of whimsy photos with her and a bunch of friends, and it was an overall blast.
