My film about my time on the Adobe Creative Residency at @vamuseum is out on YouTube 🙌🏾 (had some very wild comments on it some weeks ago, some bigots were angry but WE MOVE. Thanks to the museum for removing those swiftly).

It shares a bit about my practice, my research for the year and my process behind the works that I ended up making for our show “Adobe Creative Artists on Display”.

It’s quite wild to think that this time last year I was in the initial stages of working on the Through The Lens series and compiling my list of photographers to reach out to. Thank you to all the artists who became a part of Through The Lens, the team that worked on the series with me and organisations like 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning who we collaborated with on workshops. Also thanks to Zuketa for making such a great film of my journey!

Funny to see some of my friends and family in here too. Joy-Zahara-Bina you are 1/1. Thank you! 😂❤️

As we enter the final week of Black History Month, let's give a special shoutout to one of our members, @kapturedbykage 💐. She's always uplifting our community, offering words of encouragement and supporting us every step of the way!

Last month, she proposed an innovative idea in our private Facebook forum, challenging us to step out of our comfort zones and honour each other in a unique way. From conceptualisation to execution, sis brought the vision to life!

It was very inspiring to be surrounded by positivity and encouragement by all the other amazing attendees who have encouraged me to put this image up and submit them to a few competitions!

I’m so excited to experiment even more with lighting setups and gels also @vvbrownskin is such a dream to work with ✨

We're lost for words after our last workshop 🥹

@amandaakokhiaphotography, you delivered a truly inspiring masterclass! We're so grateful for the tips, knowledge, and passion you shared. It's clear that our community benefited greatly from your expertise, with many feeling more confident in their studio photography skills.

Huge thanks to @vvbrownskin for being an amazing model, @flawlesstouchbymia & @daniellaosei_ for their incredible glam work, and @weareqube for being an event space sponsor and providing us the perfect space!

I want to thank @gregbunbury & @roshannahbagley from @wherearetheblackdesigners for a great conversation at the @vamuseum Friday Late. We really need a part two. I appreciate the work you’re both doing and both of you sharing parts of your journeys with us. Also to all that came (and those who wanted to but couldn’t) thank you so much. Community is really a blessing.
