The Burning of Zozobra is held annually in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Thousands of people gather at Fort Marcy Park to watch a 50-foot marionette called Zozobra burn to the ground. The tradition started in 1924 and has taken place without fail every year since.

Old Man Gloom is the physical embodiment of the negative energy that humans put out into the world. The celebration is not to honor him but to destroy him with the positive energy created by the crowd.

This is a new collaboration from abqdukes @theory_of_caps and @seamustheskunk and like the subject it is fire.

Added some old photos I took at one of the celebrations I went to.

Get it while you can. “First Light” is only open for preorders a few more days before it goes to production.
Don’t count on it being available in deadstock, or Too Late! Too Late! will be the cry when the man with the deal has passed you by.

New Preorder Alert!
First Light is now available to preorder from @theclinkroom
This collaboration with @theory_of_caps captures the spirit of the Southwest at dawn: bright purples, pinks, and oranges as the Sun begins to rise, it practically lights the sky ablaze. Meanwhile, down in the still (relatively) cool shadows, a Greater Roadrunner is perched on an old post for a barbed wire fence. Watching for any tiny movement, the roadrunner will drop down and snag all small mammals, lizards, and even snakes
Hit up the preorder section of The Clink Room to secure yours while it’s available

It’s a big collab week, so hold on to your hats.
1st up is the Spirit of New Mexico, “First Light” with @theory_of_caps
Morning Sentry was our first version, and it voted well but came up a bit short. We went back to a very early sketch from a different project we’re working on, one that hits the entire vibe better. The First Light of Dawn in the desert is gorgeous; oranges, purples, pinks always make sunrise look like the sun is setting the clouds on fire.

To vote, please view the stories on @theclinkroom and hit the “Ready for the Shop” on your favorites.

Shout out your favorites and give the designers some constructive criticism. Keep it positive and fun, any unconstructive comments will be deleted. If you don’t see your design in here, it could be that you’re in line. It’s also an unfortunate reality that we can’t repost every entry we receive. We get a ton of entries and we have to be selective. As always, we’re so impressed by the passion and talent of the Clinkers. So inspiring!🍻

“First Light” in collaboration with @theory_of_caps for submission to @theclinkroom

Instead of reworking Morning Sentry, I went back to an early sketch for another project Fredo and I have been working on. It didn’t work at the time, mostly because it used a dozen colors, but I found a way to scale it back and showcase the stunning beauty of dawn in the desert.

Let’s go! My first collab with @theory_of_caps is up for voting in Monday Morning Critz with @theclinkroom
Early in Southwest mornings, along empty fields, you can usually spot a Greater Roadrunner perched on an old weathered fence post. Slowly scanning the scrub brush, the roadrunner is watching for anything to move. When you see it hop down and sprint off, you can be sure some lounging lizard or sunning snake has just met its end.
Please help us get this gem to production:
Visit The Clink Room’s IG page, view the stories, and swipe until you see your favorite designs. Hit the “Ready for the Shop” tab to vote Yes.

“Morning Sentry” in collaboration with @theory_of_caps for submission to @theclinkroom
It’s always exciting to spot a roadrunner trotting around in the scrub during the day. They’re agile, quick, and have an evil looking intensity. But if you’re really looking to spot a roadrunner, dawn or dusk near an open field is your best bet. They’ll station up on a fence post, like a sentry, watching for any tiny movement. If they dart off, you can be sure there’s a rodent, lizard, or snake that just met its end.
