9.19.2026. Our wedding day!!!

It wasn’t the day we pictured, but it was ours. ✨

It rained. And rained. And then somehow rained even more. Countless hours of planning every detail were met with phone call after phone call as the notoriously unpredictable Midwest forecast became frustratingly certain. The outdoor ceremony we had always pictured moved indoors. Timelines shifted. The panoramic view disappeared behind a wall of fog. Our catering team could no longer grill outside and had to move into the venue. Photo and video plans were reworked on the fly. The layout was completely rearranged. My white dress turned dirty and soaked. And the hairstyle I loved that morning didn’t quite make it to the end of the day. (And if you know me, you know that was its own personal crisis hahah.)

The day was full of joy, but for a few days afterward, I found myself reflecting on the gap between my expectations and reality. However, looking back at these photos now, my attention is drawn only to what went right instead of what went differently.

I see a room full of people we love.

I see family and friends who showed up with full hearts and celebrated us without hesitation.

I see vendors, loved ones, and a wedding party who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, doing everything they could to preserve our vision and make the day feel special.

I see joy. I see grace. I see so much love.

Most importantly, I see the moment I married the love of my life.

The rain changed the plans, but it didn’t change what ultimately mattered.

Looking back, it’s such a humbling reminder of how easy it is to become consumed by the little things while overlooking the incredible blessings right in front of us. So many of the elements that felt disappointing in the moment seem so small now. In reality, I was probably the only one who noticed most of them.

At the end of the day, I got to marry Noah & we got to spend the day surrounded by all the people we love most. Life goes on, and thankfully it’s a life with Noah. Everything else is just details. 🩵

18 months of planning all coming together!!! 🥹🤍

Every little part of this day was SO intentional, and you could tell just how much thought went into creating a wedding that felt like them. From the florals and stationery to all of the tiny details in between, there was seriously something beautiful everywhere I looked!!!

I could’ve photographed these details ALL DAY. 💌 And trust me, there is sooo much more from this wedding coming because I’m nowhere near done sharing!!!

Next up in the series: Paul & Madison of Danzinger Vineyards 🍇

In 2023, they reimagined an existing winery and opened up a wedding venue.

We’re talking big ideas, wine, weddings, and what they hope this place becomes in the years ahead.

If you haven’t checked out Danzinger Vineyards or The Overlook yet, consider this your sign.

Who should I feature next? Tag them in the comments!
