❤️🐾 Many of you know I’ve been fostering Daisy for the past month. This sweet girl was found abandoned on the streets, and unfortunately, her struggles didn’t end when she was rescued. She’s been bleeding for weeks, and despite countless vet visits and over $2,000 in medical expenses, we still don’t have answers. She now needs an expensive procedure to hopefully find out what’s wrong. My heart breaks watching her go through this. 💔 I’ve started a fundraiser to help get Daisy the care she desperately needs. 🐾THE FACE YOU CAN’T SAY NO TO🐾 Our little Beanie Boy is on a sleepover for the next few days. So far everyone is extremely impressed with his excellent manners and how nicely he walks but the really stand-out thing about this boy his his absolute friendliness. He loves everybody! He’s been meeting and greeting like a mayoral candidate and he is definitely settling in well. 🎉FREEDOM RIDE FOR DEADLINE DOG MANNY🎉 Manny watched what he thought were this final hours count down yesterday, unaware that an amazing human had said yes to fostering him. Thanks to that yes, this big, beautiful meatball left the shelter yesterday afternoon & became the newest member of the Popo Pack 🎉 Manny is a sweet, affectionate boy who really likes to meet people but he could never let his true colors shine through because of his terrible fear of being in the shelter. His big ol’ head and goofy smile make him look like a dog who is bold and scared of nothing but in reality he is a gentle soul who just needed a chance. Yesterday, he got that chance 🎉 Huge thank yous to @training.pit.fitness for saying yes to Manny. Three Weeks, A New Beginning Today marks three weeks since Canela came home. I thought I would give myself more time to grieve Missy before welcoming another dog into my life. Then I saw Shannon’s Instagram story: if Canela wasn’t adopted by Tuesday, she might not get another chance. I couldn’t prolong Missy’s life, but I could give Canela the chance to have one. So, even in the middle of my grief, I opened my heart and my home. We’re still learning together. Potty training is a work in progress, she’s becoming more familiar with her crate, and my little escape artist keeps me on my toes. Today has tested my patience: Canela peed outside on our first walk, then pooped in the house a few minutes later. After another accident, I took her outside again, but she didn’t go, so I brought her in and kept her close. We were both looking pretty unhappy for a while! The video captures us making up. I gave her a little freedom, while still keeping a close eye on her. She wandered off, but then she came back to me—and we found our way back to each other. Canela is so affectionate, and she reminds me every day that love can find its way back in. I’m grateful for these first three weeks, and I hope they grow into thirteen years and more. Unfortunately, this sweet girl has been diagnosed with cancer after the shelter found a mammary mass. Her diagnosis hasn’t stopped her from wagging her tail, showing lots of love, giving affection, & wiggling her whole body out of pure joy. Life hasn’t made her unkind— on the contrary, Constance is one of the sweetest girls in the world. She’s in need of commitment by Sunday, 10/11 or she’ll be at risk of crossing the rainbow bridge. Meet Wrexham 🤍 A2480290 People have passed him over because he likes to bark on walks.. even when there’s nothing to bark at 😂 To me, it feels like he’s chatting, telling you how happy he is to finally be outside. We can’t know exactly what he’s saying, but a vocal dog deserves a chance to be understood. German Shepherds are active, intelligent dogs who need exercise, mental stimulation, and connection. A loud shelter and hours of confinement can be especially difficult for them. Barking can reflect excitement, frustration, or stress; it doesn’t tell you everything about who a dog will be once he feels safe in a home. 🥺 A little time in the play yard is a break from his kennel.
