2025 was job interviews and fake nails and convincing myself I was okay when I wasn't.
2025 was applying to grad school and dancing while wearing colorful makeup.
2025 was watching TV and making tacos.
2025 was that tornado, that under cut I got, and that time I tried being a drag king for the very first time.
2025 was pink and lavender, community and kindness.
2025 was crying because I didn't have a job and then crying just as much when I got a job but for different reasons. And also crying because my best friend got engaged and I'm so so happy for her.
2025 was homemade pickles and spending time outdoors.
2025 was my first trip to a beach, my first trip to Michigan, and my first fireball shot.
2025 was spending time with friends; watching movies, playing DnD, and forcing them all to perform Hamlet at my birthday party.
2025 was moving out of my apartment and living in the hotel that I worked at for a week, then living with my parents for two weeks, then moving into a house with some of my best friends.
2025 was my car getting hit and totaled. But at least I got employee of month.
2025 was was getting to see some of my favorite musicals: The Prom at the Tantrum Theater in Athens and Back To The Future at the Aranoff in Cincinnati.
2025 was full time grad school + part time job = no time for sleep or friends or self care.
2025 was making a cosplay for the renfair, going to my first concert since 2019 (The Oh Hellos), representing the OU Pride Center (RIP) in the homecoming parade, performing in a drag parady of Rocky Horror, AND being a sexy cow for Halloween.
2025 was pushing my body to its limits, my iron levels dropping again, and quitting my job.
2025 was somehow getting all As in my first semester of grad school and also getting an unpaid internship lined up for the spring.
2025 was a lot.
And in a lot of ways, I'm back to where I started the year: anemic, unemployed, confused. But I have a better trajectory now, and I know I'm surrounded by some pretty amazing people, and I'm excited to see what will happen next in 2026...

Ps. If I tagged you, it means you made my year a little bit brighter 😊

🔔 DING 🔔 DING 🔔 DING … This Saturday 9/20 in Athens, OH it’s goin DOWN… 🥊 once we wrap at the Skate Park the party moves straight to @unionbarathens for the hardest after party show the worlds ever seen!! In the ring we’ll have:

8PM @thepeachpitathens kicking it off with their sapphic dance party delivering the banger Athens and sexy factor that every great after fest needs 🤼‍♀️

9:15PM @danabandohio returning undefeated champions from Columbus, OH

10:15PM @swimmingfaith SCIENCE MAN hailing all the way from Buffalo, NY - After brooding in the shadows of the Rust Belt and extensively touring for the last 5 years, SCIENCE MAN has mutated from John Toohill’s brainchild into a relentless, 10-armed, genre-bending monster. They set loose a blend of enigmatic hardcore punk that melts away the restraints, throwing you into their ever expanding distorted reality.

10:50PM @day__residue “Day Residue make bristly punk driven by feelings of dissatisfaction and daily existential horrors, their chaotic sounds blueprinted in exacting measure. This has been more or less the Detroit band’s design since it started in late 2020 as a deep pandemic recording project between friends Cree Cree and Aleahia Thompson. Their sprawling sound has been described as “Death(Detroit) meets Death(Florida) meets Christian Death”

11:40PM @big.time.sniper.style Columbus, OH Scrappy-Doo’s bringing that anti-discourse, anti-intelligence inspired hardcore
