#ThankYouSkateboarding @brzkrsk8brdsrfnkyroo1time @thepeecircles for a great #29

Mind body soul connection is the most important development as it orients and provides the limitations or aptitude in which we can interact and exist with the universe and every thing in it.

The claim does two different kinds of work at once, and it’s worth separating them.

“Orients” suggests the mind-body-soul complex is like an instrument — it determines which aspects of the universe become available to interaction, the way a bandwidth determines what signal gets through. “Limitations or aptitude” suggests something stronger: not just selective access but constitutive access — the apparatus doesn’t just filter reality, it’s the condition under which anything like “reality for us” exists at all. Kant’s transcendental aesthetic is doing something like this with space and time; you’re doing it with a tripartite embodied-psychic structure instead.

The tension worth sitting with: if mind-body-soul is genuinely the orienting structure, then it can’t itself be fully known from within — you can’t get behind your own aperture to see what it’s excluding, only infer the exclusion from its effects (the way you infer a blind spot, not by seeing it, but by noticing the visual field has no gap). That’s a strong claim about the limits of self-knowledge, not just a claim about embodiment.

There’s also a place this cuts against the non-dual traditions you tend toward. Dzogchen doesn’t treat mind-body-soul as the orienting structure through which awareness meets the universe — it treats that trinity as already a conceptual overlay within awareness, not the ground of the relation but a further construction on top of it.

29 is a skate event that has been going on yearly in the DMV since 1995. This edit is a July 29 x @trafficskateboards collab I made today. The majority of these clips were filmed in July, with the beginning and ending clips filmed this past weekend. There’s multiple skaters in this edit over the age of 50, to quote Art “there is no end, only pretend.”

#TheRealMe #SkateOrDie and things @nkzq_c #DRILLZ benefits of being process oriented instead of goal oriented.

	•	Sustainability — goals create a finish line, then a motivational cliff. Process becomes identity (“I’m someone who trains,” not “I’m someone who wants a marathon medal”), so it doesn’t collapse once achieved or abandoned.
	•	Resilience to bad luck — goals are outcome-dependent, and outcomes have variance you don’t control. A good process can produce a bad result (and vice versa). Judging yourself by process protects against noise.
	•	Continuous compounding — goals are episodic; process is recursive. Small daily iteration compounds in a way that “hit the target, stop” doesn’t.
	•	Reduced anxiety — goal orientation keeps attention on a gap (where I am vs. where I should be), which is inherently a stress state. Process orientation keeps attention on the next right action, which is executable now.
	•	Better actual goal attainment, ironically — most high performers report the goal set direction but the process did the work. James Clear’s framing: you don’t rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems.
	•	Preserves optionality — a fixed goal can blind you to better opportunities that emerge mid-process. Process orientation stays adaptive because it’s evaluating conditions continuously rather than marching toward a fixed target.

The tradeoff: process without any goal can drift — you need enough of a target to know which process is even the right one to build. Best framing is usually goals set direction, process does execution.

Last night I got to see one of my all time favorite hardcore songs played live, "Holding On" by the legendary @judge_nyhc. It's a deep cut off the Chung King lp that's heavily influenced my life and how I run @lost_origins_gallery; perfect blend of anger and optimism.

It was incredible catching up with everyone & conspiring with @windofchangeband guitarist & photo legend @jasonmpeterson to make @mrsza a surprise birthday bass drum head :)

There was a hilarious & spirited debate backstage about who started "Gap Style Hardcore" - @windofchangeband or @chain_of_strength_official. Universal consensus - @windofchangeband!

"Does the singer still have that swoopy blonde hair?" - Porcell

@mrjameswall time to post a selfie!!!!! The aging Youth Crew NEEDS to see!

"I LOOK AHEAD AS TO WHAT'S TO COME AND I'M HAPPY TO SAY I'M EXCITED

YOU TURN AWAY LIKE IT'S THE END OF A BOOK WELL I TELL YOU I'M GONNA REWRITE IT

CAUSE THERE'S A YOUNGER KID
AND HE'S JUST LIKE ME AND FOR HIM I'M GONNA FIGHT IT

AND GIVE HIM EVERY CHANCE
THAT WAS GIVEN TO ME AND MAKE SURE HE'S NEVER SILENCED

YOU-LET-ME-DOWN
I'M HOLDING ON"
