What an AMAZING weekend for Meet the Workerbeez at STEM Discovery Day hosted at Crown Center! 🐝✨

We had the absolute pleasure of participating in this incredible day of learning, creativity, and hands-on fun during Remake Learning Days — and WOW… what a time we had! There were so many exciting activities for children and families, and the energy in the building was amazing from start to finish. 💡🎨🧪

One of my favorite parts of the day was having my very own “Workerbee in Training” helping at our station! 💛🐝 Seeing young leaders step up, assist others, and engage with the kids made the experience even more special.

At the Meet the Workerbeez station, we honored our creative character, Design Duck Architect! The kids were challenged to imagine and design their very own bridge, house, or tower. First, they had to DRAW their idea, then BUILD it using hands-on materials — and the creations were absolutely incredible! 🌉🏠🏗️

The creativity, imagination, and problem-solving skills these children showed were truly inspiring. I cannot say enough how much FUN we had. It was the perfect event, and we are so thankful to everyone who stopped by our station and supported Meet the Workerbeez! ❤️

Be sure to check out ALL of the amazing Remake Learning Days Kansas City events — including our upcoming event:

🏀📚 “Foundation to Future: Hoops & Career Literacy Family Camp”
Hosted in partnership with the Holmes Garden Neighborhood Association and Victor Williams Basketball Camp!

Registration is OPEN now — don’t miss it! 🎉🐝

The first day of @remakelearningdays in Kansas City was a whirlwind, the best kind.

Between the @officialfirstlegoleague Explore Showcase and community partners showing up in a big way to engage kids around STEM learning, @crowncenter was full of curiosity, creativity, and energy all day long.

Young learners explored everything from bees to architecture to robots. And of course, LEGOs. Lots of LEGOs.

Exactly what the work is all about, even though it looks like play.

A huge thank you to our hosts at Crown Center, along with @alsipacres Honey Farm, @meettheworkerbeez, @thepinions, @stemkc Student Leadership Team (we see you, @gryphonbots!), and @re.use.full for creating hands-on experiences for kids and families throughout the day.

Thank you as well to the @debrucefoundation, and to every student, family, educator, volunteer, and community member who came together to learn, explore, and have fun with us.

We’re just getting started. Remake Learning Days continues through May 17 with FREE events happening all across the Kansas City region.

Just came from Super Qualifers with a 1st place win! We went undefeated 9-0 and set the state record doing so, and got global recognition with an award for Breckyn’s digital animation submission! We partnered with Team Chargers to set a new state record of 238 in the championship game. It was a wonderful experience filled with lots of wonderful people from across MoKan. We look forward to seeing you all at state!

My life is full of great music, food, art, science, books, community, coffee, nature, animals, architecture, history, herstory, and above all, interesting people.

In the coolest, most serendipitous turn of events ever, that’s exactly the way I want it.

One week ago, Force Green got the wonderful news that we would be going to Worlds! Everyone on our team put in hard work, but we couldn't have done it without the gracious professionalism and cooperation our fellow teams displayed too! Before qualifying matches, our robot had an issue with power, but in our moment of need other FTC teams came to our aid. Thank you to our friends from @ftc288 ,@thepinions , @cougarbots14867 , and volunteers for helping us fix Eileen’s power.
