Just returned from competing in the 2022 Interpacs on Hiva Oa!

The competition was held over two days, at two separate locations. The first day was held at an island called Motane. This area had some amazing fish life, and beautiful clean water. We ended the day with 40 fish, and a weight of 49.5kg. We were sitting in second place behind Alex from NZ, and the Tahitian girls were very close not far behind!

The mens team did very well on the first day, with 105 fish and holding a clear second place behind Tahiti.

The second day of competition was held on the western side of Hiva Oa, it was harder diving, dirtier water and it much less fishy. We knew it was going to be a tough day, with the competition being pretty close. About halfway through the comp it got a little bit tougher with me not being able to equalise for about an hour.
We managed 30 fish for the day, but weren’t sure if we had done enough to maintain second as the Tahitian girls weighed 33 fish! We knew it would be super close.
The mens team did well with 76 fish for the day, and they also knew it was going to be close one for 2nd and 3rd between them and the Kiwis!

We finished in 3rd place, the Tahitian girls pipped us for second by less than 1% of the total score.
Big congratulations to Alex from NZ for taking it out single handedly! 🥳
And well done to the Tahitian ladies! 🙌

Huge congratulations to our mens team who managed to maintain their second position by half a percent! 🥈 They all worked incredibly well as a team! 🙌

A massive thanks goes out to Joe and Graham our managers who always look after us, and Taylah for being an absolutely amazing dive partner and friend.

Big thanks also to our sponsors, and those people who bought tickets in all the various raffles, whom without their support, this trip wouldn’t have been possible!
