amidst paper stars and balloon clad bears, my baby grows quietly into a two year old. Nothing I wouldn’t do to see his early morning smile, trotting out from the bedroom to a sweet, homemade birthday bash 🥹🎂🎈

“Commissioned @rickcanna.ann to do the most dreamy, time capsuled piece of our family dog Zayla, who passed not long ago. Here she is remembered forever, moseying amidst my mother’s lavender fields, blitzed bees buzzing about her ears.
Mountain tops melding into the sky, sun spots shimmering on her speckled back. The kindest of dogs, always following you to whatever room you were in, just to plop down into the perfect snooze. A furry friend who loved her forest life. Thank you @canna_bear.n.cub for honoring her spirit, brush stroke by stroke, the love and dedication to catching her essence shimmers through so evidently.”

A client posted their portrait with this caption and I just had to share. Thank you SO much, Nikki, for hiring me to honor Zayla in such a way! As soon as you sent me this photo of her in the lavender field, I instantly wanted to paint the entire scene. This pup portrait is unlike any other I’ve painted, and I love that so much!!!!! I appreciate the challenge and the trust more than I can say.
You are VALUED.

More unique portrait requests, please!
