I was baptized when I was seven years old. I loved Jesus then, so it wasn’t about erasing the faith I had as a little girl. It was about standing here as a woman who has lived some life, walked through some valleys, experienced His faithfulness for herself, and understands the Cross differently now.

9/13/2026, I went under the water with an understanding I simply couldn’t have had at SEVEN.

I understand grace differently now. I understand what it means to need forgiveness—because I am human. I am a sinner saved by grace. I’ve lived enough life now to understand mistakes, heartbreak, disappointment, surrender, mercy, and the overwhelming love of Jesus in ways that little seven-year-old me couldn’t yet comprehend.

And I understand Calvary differently now. The vastness of what Jesus did for us. The blood that was shed. The price that was paid. A love so complete that He doesn’t ask us to clean ourselves up before coming to Him. He meets us where we are. He forgives, restores, redeems, and makes us new.

So Sunday, I was baptized in the name of Jesus. And when I went under that water, it felt like a fresh start. A renewal. A surrender. I laid down every version of myself and came back up new, fully loved, fully known, fully forgiven.

And if you’re reading this longing for a fresh beginning with Jesus, this invitation is for you too.

You don’t have to have everything figured out.
You don’t have to get yourself “good enough” first.
You are not defined by where you’ve been.

Just come.

His grace is still enough.
His mercy is still new.
His arms are still open.
And there is still new life in Jesus.

I went under knowing about His love.

I came back up overwhelmed by the vastness of it. 🤍

Buried with Him.
Raised to new life.
Baptized in Jesus’ name.

This has been the most challenging, brutal, but hope-filled past 5 days. With the help of a beautiful group of people, I looked inside, hated what I saw, and committed to doing whatever necessary to live honorably, honestly and in a way that blesses instead of harms.

Honesty is simple, but not always easy. It can be embarrassing. Humiliating. And, can be so hurtful to others (in the short-term, but what’s right in the long term.)

The details are mine to work through, along with my accountability partners, but I do want to share at least this part of my story.

….There’s hope. No matter how deep you’re in. No matter how stuck or powerless you feel.

And, what may feel like a fatal flaw, may become a beautiful story of hope for someone in your same place.

God, thank you for a new day. A new beginning. Friends, thank you for your prayers and your grace. Thank you, Bishop Mangun, for baptizing me in the name that brings forgiveness.
