As kids we explored abandoned buildings to see inside the urban decay. Our young minds were trying to understand how a civilization could abandon their assets without repurposing the earthen material to make something new. We saw potential where others left blight.

Now as adults in the culture, we get to take creative action and reshape new ideas from the ruins left to us. These ruins manifest as physical buildings, old ideas, scratched notes, unfinished art.

Unrefined, raw material to work with.

A true renaissance takes human endeavor and collective effort to shape new life into our cultures and communities. When we all put our collective minds and hands together, we can shine the brightest light onto even the darkest places.

Big ups to @da_veechee @jerrudmorelli7 and the team at Detroit Progress for putting the pieces together 🌃 🫡
