What a beautiful morning to be in the CURRENT. 💜🌊

Fresh air. Hot coffee. Good friends. New friends. And a room full of people sharing what’s currently on repeat in their lives. ☕️🎶

We had incredible 30-second pitches! Be on the lookout in next week's newsletter!

Then Dave Ashton took us into the CURRENT of media and culture: current events, what’s the vibe, the state of media, and even some of the things that might be a little tough on the ears. Dave stressed that we can’t be impartial. We have to pay attention, listen, engage, and be willing to hear what’s actually being said.

And THEN… because this is CreativeMornings… Dave and a fellow rapper jumped into an impromptu performance from Tha Neo Politan. 🎤🔥

Coffee + conversation + community + hip hop before most people have finished their first cup?!

Yep. That’s a CreativeMorning. 💜

Thank you to everyone who came out, shared what’s on repeat, listened, connected, and spent this beautiful morning with us.

This morning was something special. 🌴💛

Our CreativeMornings Denver gathering for NAKHLAH was filled with inspiration, connection, resilience, and so many reminders of what can grow when we refuse to break.

Our speaker, Frank Anello, shared the incredible journey of Project Worthmore and the story of learning to bend, but never break. Through every challenge, every unexpected turn, and every person who joined the journey along the way, Frank kept moving forward. And what Project Worthmore has grown into today is extraordinary.

The morning also felt like a reunion. 🥹 So many people from different chapters of Frank’s journey were there, people who have encouraged, supported, partnered, volunteered, believed, and helped shape the roots that now run so deep.

After our gathering, CreativeMornings friends were invited to tour the Roots Campus and see the impact firsthand: dental and medical care, a food market, community resources, and life-giving support for immigrants and refugees beginning again in a new home.

People who have been uprooted are being given the space, resources, community, and love to put down new roots. 🌱

THAT is NAKHLAH.

What an incredible morning. What an incredible community. And what a beautiful reminder that sometimes the strongest things aren't the ones that never bend. They're the ones that bend, endure, keep growing, and become shelter for others. 🌴

Thank you, Frank. Thank you, Project Worthmore. And thank you to everyone who spent this very special morning with us. 💛

What a beautiful morning with our CreativeMornings/Denver community! Yesterday’s theme Parallel with the inspiring Rae Wall lit up the 6th floor of the Thompson Hotel with heart, creativity, and connection.

From deep conversations and joyful reunions to coffee-fueled inspiration and new friendships, it was everything we love about these mornings.

Huge thanks to our volunteers, partners, and every single one of you who showed up—with your stories, your energy, and your whole-hearted presence.

Last week’s CreativeMornings was one for the books! 📸💡 From inspiring conversations to shared moments of creativity and connection, we gathered as a community to embrace this month’s theme: #CMLAYERS.

We experienced a unique, interview-style presentation with Paul Laurie, interviewed by Reuben, who reminded us that life—like creativity—is made up of layers: experience, growth, and resilience. We laughed, we learned, and we even shed a few tears as Paul's family stood up to share their heartfelt moments. We left feeling re-energized, inspired, and ready to take on the world with fresh ideas and open hearts.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us, shared their 30-second pitches, and helped create such a vibrant morning. And of course, shoutout to our amazing volunteers and sponsors who make this magic happen every month!

What an incredible finale to #CreativeMornings 2024! We gathered in the stunning Fryer-Newman Center at the Denver Botanic Gardens to hear the inspiring Vanessa Callahan speak on this month's theme, #CMCycle 🌱. The morning kicked off with a lively coffee and connection hour filled with meaningful conversations and engaging 30-second pitches. It was a perfect way to close out the year together—celebrating creativity, community, and new beginnings!

Kinda packed week, from Maine with Sam and Marc (and a quick beach amazing trip with @lkrklnd and @cegoldenjewelry and Angus! And Andrew Smith and Elizabeth too!), a soak at Wolfe’s Neck, back home to Isadore and Freida Loo, a long gorgeous drive to see Arooj Aftab with Nick and Michael (even @practicingopenplaces appeared!), a super duper, giggly visit with @maps_musicartpuppetsound and Elouise, then off to Brooklyn Heights to see Nala Sinephro and to meet my Internet buddy Franklin irl. I woke up late this morning thinking of all this, and something Aron said the other night: never underestimate the exhaustion of a summer night after you’ve been working all day. Some of these nights just about did me in. Long drives, questionable amounts of soft serve, et al. Is it okay to have so much joy and still have grief and sadness mixed in? I don’t want to say it’s all got to be one thing. A sad summer. A fun summer. The summer where I had more days with headaches than without. In any case, I made a zine about my cat, so that’s a tangible, eh?
