Lots more videos to post from Saturday, but this is a fun new thing that started thisyear: seems to occur during the second quarter of a @boilerfootball game: here are the @purduegoldusterdanceteam @purduetwirling and @purduebands dancing and having fun to the epic song “Shout” by the Isley Brothers! Toward the end, select members of Big Bass Drum Crew form a circle around a dancing @thepurduepete . Not my best video quality, especially giving the lights in the stadium being flickered on and off, but this is a lot of fun.!

It was one of my favorite Purdue days yesterday. I got to reprise my role as Assistant to the Maitre'd at Triple XXX (helping Big John keep people clear of the walkway and door where the servers need to get to the outside seating) before going up to Slayter and getting a great spot.

Due to lots of family events, I was the only one of the usual group tailgating, which made me nervous with Trevor coming for the Meijer Tailgate Trivia. Fortunately, friends from a number of parts of my Purdue life came to help me out--Brian and David from Purdue Cycling, Jason from the Pete family, and Ryan from the Reamers. Along with folks from adjacent tailgates, we looked great on camera, and my friends helped me get the one trick question they slid my way before I got the last two right (as I was studying up the night before and all afternoon on Purdue-Minnesota history and on Jeff Zgonina stats but I knew the two Zgonina questions without having to cram anyway!😁)

Then it was off to Ross-Ade to help the Reamer Club with the flags for I Am an American and the anthem. I got to handle a corner of the US flag--no small duty! Thanks to Ryan for trusting me with that important job and for getting me involved with it in the first place last fall. The great performance by the Boilers and the rain holding off until near the end of the Band postgame made for a really wonderful, memorable day. It was great to spend the game with Big John, Andrew, and Ben. It was so great to see Doug and Becca during the game! I hadn't seen Becca in years.

The photo that Cam got of Pete, the Band, and the Ross-Ade Brigade watching me win the Meijer Tailgate Trivia with Pete pointing up at me is an all-time favorite. I am, as always, ever grateful for my association with Purdue Pete and was so amazed and thankful when Cam sent me pics during the game of Pete supporting me on the big screen.

It will be hard to top Saturday. Combined with Friday, with a great meal at Triple XXX before an amazing Purdue Volleyball match sweep and some nice interaction with the Block Party leadership after, I got home this afternoon a very happy Boilermaker.
