We’re excited to share that Trust, our upcoming short film, has been selected for the @kickstarter Culture Fund!

This is an exciting milestone for our team as we continue bringing this story to life. Trust is a psychological thriller rooted in themes of trust, abandonment, survival, and Black mental health. It’s a story that challenges us to confront what it means to hold on when the world around us begins to fall apart.

We’re grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to share more with you as we prepare to launch our Kickstarter campaign.

Cover reveal! 📖

Our team is beyond excited to reveal the cover for the upcoming IHRAM Literary Magazine, “Mother Tongue: Intersections of Culture and Identity”—a bold collection of works centred around intersectional feminism; memories and traditions that women carry; and amplifying stories from women around the world.

We cannot wait to share this powerful issue with you! Coming out October 30th 2026 – it will be available in print and eBook.

Our call yesterday was nothing less than magical. Seeing so many beautiful Black creatives, leaders, and storytellers all together was magnificent. And as we come together to create Trust (A post, apocalyptic, psychological thriller 🧟‍♀️) and put it out into this world, we will continue to shine our light in the world.

Not everyone is pictured because some of us were out doing great and amazing things, but were still there. We definitely shouted them out.

The point of creating this film is multi-layered, but the process is the art in itself. Thank you to all the beautiful creative people. May you be blessed in your journeys.

Tonight we’re bringing the community together to archive the beauty of our crowns at MLK @dallaspubliclibrary

This come and go event is free and open to all ages. We’ll have @thequelhynson leading our collage table, essential oil making with our special guest @enidbskincare and a film station for guests to share their hair stories. The library is also creating a small reading corner to enjoy books on Black hair and history.

It’s going to be a beautiful evening. Grab a friend and stop by. Link in bio to register.

What a day 🥹 I’m still soaking it all in.

AI+Money for a creatives was truly just a nugget of an idea I felt compelled to bring to life.

Seeing the real tangible thing actually happen is a feeling still so hard to put into words.

It was so inspiring to see all of us in one room, building real tools and a real plan for our creativity and our money. The energy was everything I hoped for, and the feedback since has been overwhelmingly positive. Thank you everyone for showing up fully!

Thank you to our presenting sponsor @benchaccounting for expanding the room and making it possible for so many Dallas creatives.

Thank you local artist @thequelhynson for blessing the room with your work.

Thank you @artfully_cathryn of @blackartsdfw and #MerrillLynch for hosting us and providing lunch and making us feel welcome in the beautiful space.

I will be sitting in this feeling for a moment.

I don’t plan to host anymore workshops until next year, but until then give @benchaccounting and the creatives tagged in this post a follow. We can’t wait to keep growing this community!

The PEACE we felt. Sheesh. Being able to honor nature and our community in real time alongside my friend is truly something special. Session two is officially wrapped for Roots & Rhythm, and it was just as magical as the first. Thank you to Ms. Lyons 💚 @millcityfarm and to everyone who joined us to learn more about our environment. @mycainthemaking I adore you like the sun. We are helping our world.

A special thank you to @shindichansan and @downwinders.at.risk for sharing your knowledge and commitment to protecting our communities. We need this work and this information now more than ever.

If you missed this session, we’d love to see you next week for the next one (link in bio). Above all, stay free, stay happy, and love nature, because every day it shows us love through all that it gives.

Meet Jordan played by @thequelhynson @wetrustfilm / AD: @bylisaford

“I got no family left, friends, no
love, as if I ever had that.”
(chuckles)

“Sigh, I wish I had pictures...of
the family at least. It’s...just me
now.”

Excited to be creating this film with some rare beings. What you see here are the visuals for planning how the final film will look and feel.

@thequelhynson is the second lead and super talented. What a joy she is. Her acting is on point! She’s also an amazing painter and educator. So check her out.

Thanks to the AD @bylisaford for helping me while capturing these visuals. Lisa is one amazing artist as well and rare like a star. I love you like the stars.

This film is titled Trust, and it’s a psychological thriller, but being able to bring something to life that is written with symbolism as a way to raise awareness about issues in our very community is very important. This creative process is important because the process is where it happens. I was able to find old items from the thrift store for the outfit and I did the makeup myself that was fun.

Support it early over on wetrustfilm.com @wetrustfilm

Props by @vanntastichorrorshp / @prismlensfx Script created in the @slightbreezestudios workshop series.

It’s always beautiful creating with talented, amazing, and heartfelt people, and I have to give a huge thank you to @thequelhynson (acting lead) and @bylisaford (The beautiful AD). Being able to create with you both means so much. Check them out they are worth the connection and love.

This film is titled Trust, and it’s a psychological thriller, but being able to bring something to life that is written with symbolism as a way to raise awareness about issues in our very community is very important. I did the makeup and thrifted the fit.

This was another beautiful core memory, and I can’t thank you both enough for that.
If you want to support the project, you can follow our journey. Check it out over on @wetrustfilm or here. 🥹🎬

Stay blessed, always. Creativity is what you make it, and it’s important to make it good, starting with the memories.

Stay blessed and full of love, always.
