The #justicefornolanwells quilt top and backing are coming together 😊 I was able to use at least one block from each of the 27 people who donated. Unfortunately, 5 donations didn’t make the cut, either bc there was less than a 1/4” seam allowance or the fabrics didn’t play well with the others. I appreciate the effort made by all 🖤 As previously stated, 18 stars will go on the front, and 12 stars will be on the back. I have tried my best to tag everyone who contributed. If I missed you, please note in the comments the page # and position on the page where your star is located so I can give you credit ☀️

If we build it, will you come? What started as a snarky response to a fabric manufacturer's tone deaf social media post is blossoming into something that could become a really amazing community of inclusive, anti-bigoted makers. We know we can't do this alone, so if you are interested in helping grow this crazy ass idea, please fill out the Anti-racist Quilt Guild's Planning Group Interest Form linked under @sasquatch.stitches profile. We are seeking volunteers that have skills in community/organization building, social media, technology structures, and legal/business structures to form a small planning group. Tolerance for the word "fuck" is an attribute. Not knowing what kind of response we'll receive, you may not hear back from us right away. There were some folks that volunteered to help in the comments under Petra's original post - for visibility we'll try to tag them in the comments here - hopefully we won't miss anyone. A public IG profile, with demonstrated anti-racist views is required. Invitation is open worldwide and meetings will be virtual. STICKER TIME 🥲 a drawing of our 2025 events group quilt. The evidence of the last two weeks of my night time drawing while the boys watch Monster Jams 🤪 the bottom is water colors (my old favorite medium) and the top is a marker. The red is the original stitched appliqué on the back along with Karin’s black handwriting. But towards the end of the project when I was seeing the end in sight, I was like ??? Why did I draw this for a sticker?? Would anyone even want one?? Isn’t it still atrocious to look at? 😅 So head to my stories to vote for your favorite— I’m going to buy 100, and 20 will be mailed to the ladies that helped me with this project, and then that leaves 80 to pass out at QuiltCon. I love the backing of this quilt.
